I ordered a 30 Chunk Special & a 50 Chunk Special in which the sauces come included with the special. I placed the order online $200+ as it was an employee birthday lunch we picked up from the restaurant over an hour away. I pick up my order and everything seemed to be there as per the worker. I drive back to work over (1hr+) to Chicago. As we unpackaged the orders there was no sauces at all not even for the Jalapeno Poppers. Luckily the Marinara was included for the Mozzarella Sticks. I call in to talk to a manager in which she stated she was the manager. As soon as I said I just picked up a big online order she states your sauces are here. I then replied why weren't they added to my order and the blame game started of a new employee. I know there's a floor manager who has to double check orders especially one that is $200+. Manager then went to ask if we order regularly as to credit me for something. But then when she said I can credit you for the sauces. Lady the sauces comes free with the order... I get accidents happen but be mindful of the order size and it being a birthday lunch how inconvenient this was and for you to want to credit me for sauces that comes free or the 4 extra sauces I paid to reassure we had enough sauces is just an insult at this point. Nevertheless, I sure hope they get their orders and management together because I'm sure going to have to reconsider having future orders if they can't get their...
Read moreI was pretty excited to try this place! So many great reviews, lots of positive recommendations, I was happy to finally have the time to give Chicken-N-Spice a try. Unfortunately, my experience fell flat. I was under the initial impression I would be stepping into a semi-traditional chicken restaurant with familiar favorites and special recipes. My initial impression did not meet my expectations. Chicken offerings are singular, 'chicken-breast-chunks.' In lue of the seemingly unappetizing 'chunks,' I opted for the battered cod. It tastes old and overly-seasoned with artificial beer flavoring. I love beer-battered fish, but the flavor ballance is off. Paired alongside the undercooked batter underneath, the fish was subpar to say the least. The potatoes were a nice surprise, but not enough of a reason to visit on their own. Service was fine, somewhat attention lacking, but nothing inherently bad or unpleasant. In all, if you're looking for a more inventive atmosphere and aren't afraid to try something new, this might be the place for you. Personally, I didn't leave with the best impression and probably won't stop again. Either way, all the best and thanks...
Read moreEnjoy the chunks when they are fresh which sometimes, depending on when you go can be a gamble. Sometimes half the chunks are oil soaked from sitting around..Then you get to deal with the incompetence that seems to fill your order at the drive-thru. On more then one occasion we've driven the 25 mins to the place, ordered our chunks, was asked specifically what sauces we would like and then find out when we return home, somebody wasnt smart enough to look at our order receipt, lnotice the 3 sauces we requested and go above and beyond and place said sauces in the bag. Probably the easiest part of their job and they have failed on multiple occasions. Kinda losing faith in tomorrow's youth when this simple task betrays them. Just gonna take a break on spending my money here and hit the local Popeyes instead the next few times the chicken craven hits the family. Atleast they have always got the simplepart of my...
