China Wok Buffet — Restaurant in Show Low

You’re looking for an honest review??? well let me give you one: Me, my wife and daughter went there today and omg what a nightmare!!! my 5 year old daughter was not hungry so she did not eat. I explained that to our waitress and showed her her plate which was not touched. So I ate it not to waste food. Here I’m thinking not a big deal that she would take her off the bill (I was so wrong!) so I went to pay at the front desk and the Chinese lady at the cash register went and grabbed the waitress and the waitress claimed that she did eat and they tried to charge us for her which I refused to do. the Chinese cash register lady was very verbally aggressive and unprofessional also stating that we have you on camera and I replied gladly please go look at the footage you will see that she did not eat. (My poor wife. Bless her heart, I love her so much.) The lady refused to take my credit card and said I was to pay for my daughter as well. After five minutes of verbal exchange (seeing this was going nowhere) fortunately I remembered I had a $20 bill on me and threw it down and walked out the door. As I began to walk out the door she yells out at me and accuses me of lying and some other words in Chinese. the front room was filled with customers overhearing all of that very embarrassing and very unprofessional. Never in my life have I been so disrespected and verbally abused over $6 dollars??? I called the restaurant 30 minutes later asking for the owner to complain and she refused to give me his name and stated he was not there yelling at me over the phone stating she has to pay the six dollars out of her own pocket. What a damn joke! Really over $6 bucks??? I honestly can’t imagine how this lady still has a job there?their food is of low quality and We will not be returning to give them our business. Putting my anger aside the people that are giving five star reviews on this website Are just being too kind. I know quality food when I eat it and this place is not. very disappointed and they’re very unprofessional . It’s truly a shame we don’t have more Chinese restaurants in the local area. I thought we were going in for a nice hot meal. I did not expect to leave there being verbally abused and leaving with such a sick feeling in my stomach not to mention there food didn’t help. Honestly the place is dirty including the bathroom and the food tastes terrible. As you scroll down and look at other peoples reviews several people have stated there are cockroaches all over the restaurant and on the food. need I say more. I’d rather eat at McDonald’s and that’s saying something. At least there you know you’re being slowly poisoned God only knows what you’re eating at this place? Honestly I have spent way too much time giving you this review it’s been such a waste of my time. FYI I don’t have a problem paying the six dollars this is about principle and common courtesy. I can say with clarity and without any doubt that we will NEVER EVER be going back to China Wok...

ASSAULTED BY WAITER / BUS PERSON FOOD OLD AND COLD !!!!

Went to enjoy some Chinese food today with my Family. We arrived about 11:50 am , There were only a few fresh things out on the Buffet. The chicken wings were cold and tasted like reheats from the day before. There were only 5 or 6 in the pan so I am pretty sure they were reheats since the place just opened.... Most of the pans were the same. We sat in a different booth today. A younger Asian male with Glasses waited on us. I asked him if they would be so kind as to make fresh wings that these seemed old and they were cold. He then told me they were perfectly fine they were just cooked differently today. He then smirked and sneered as though I was being petty... Hey , I don't know about you... But when I drop 40 or 50 or 60$ to feed my family , I expect fresh hot food and Good service..... We were there about 15 minutes ... taking our time to enjoy being out a bit... We barely ate anything and this young man brought us our Bill already.....I thought wow .. that's rude. I finally got my wings 3 were hot an 3 were cold ... I chose not to eat the cold ones. They just mixed them together. The young man went by and asked what's wrong with the 3 I didn't eat ... I told him , again he laughed and mocked me. After an hour of being there , the young man did not refill our cups once. My wife was very thirsty and I was very upset at this point. My 13 year old says hey ... Grandpa use to leave a penny or a nickel for such bad service... I said good idea go ahead.. so she left it. The coke we had to request finally came back to the table... he was smirking funny while leaving it. I took a taste and thought the worst..... but I thought no ... it was just me. I did not say anything. Then my wife takes a taste and says there is something funny tasting in it...... At that point I decided .. I'm not coming here again.... The girls that were there before always treated us good. We never had this problem before.... Anyway, after paying and approaching the exit the young Asian guy who waited on us chased me to the exit trying to return the nickel he thought I left him , but my daughter left it. I didn't think his service was worth that. I would not take the nickel so he THREW it at me .. yes assault with a nickel. Mind you I have left 50$ for good service in the past to other establishments and never no less then $5, unless its really bad.... You want a good tip then earn it!! People come to have a nice meal an great service... Not to be assaulted and have there food or drinks violated. Do yourself a favor DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. IF you do, don't sit at this young mans table he is prideful and rude to say the least. The Man that took my money appeared to be the boss. He did nothing but claimed he would take care of it.....SHAME ON YOU...

I love Asian food. Every state and Asian county I go to I try as many food places as I can.

This one is THE BEST one in the area, NOT ONE IT IS THE BEST. And though it is very American Chinese it is still mouth watering wonderful. As majority of authentic Chinese restaurants I go to I ask if they have another menu or side dishes (usually they are in Mandarin or Cantonese and not in English).((Note for clarification: I'm talking like Shumai, Chicken feet, Plum noodles, roasted duck, things like that.))

It is a small menu but that is a good thing as they focus on the quality for what they serve. Again, SO SO SO good. So good, I keep forgetting to take photos of their food.

Their small dessert bar is nice, I think their only down fall is their ice cream machine. The texture is off and it isn't like American ice cream that most people are used to. It isn't even like Italian Gelato ice cream either.

The esthetic of the place are simple, and neat. Their two flaws for furniture is that the booths are not as comfortable as the chairs (personal opinion not fact), and I love photography so my desire is to update their display pictures. Their food is so good and those photos just pale in comparison to the taste and looks of the food.

Now, they don't do military discount but that is okay. Their price for all you can eat for dining in is about $10 I believe per person (before tax). They even have to go boxes where you can add as much as you want to the box and it's charged by the pound. Or you can order a plate pre-made to go and they are extremely affordable and filling.

Their staff is extremely friendly and they try to leave you be when you eat. They are attentive though so when drinks get below half they give you a new cup that is full for you.

Anyway, this is a must go location.
