I was one of very few who was excited about the opening of goodwill. Today was my second visit into the store and my last. I have never in my life been treated like a thief for no reason at all. I finished my shopping and was waiting to try on clothes. I waited at least 10-15 mins before the lady who was in the dressing room came out and said " Would you like this one. They take forever to get here" I agreed and thanked her. My daugher and I went in and I pulled my cart behind us that had my two young kids. Now this isn't my first rodeo with goodwill. All I brought into the store was my wallet and my keys. Knowing if I had brought my purse they wouldn't let me bring my cart/kids in. This is what I've done in the past.
As I try on clothes I get a knock on the door that I HAVE to open the door and that the cart can't be in there. Well were was she not but a min before? I said to her. "Ok and then who will watch my kids." No answer.
Now when I needed assistance. They weren't able to spare ONE employee to help me open a room. Not ONE. But yet they were able to spare THREE employees when they thought I was a no good thief.
It really takes three people to stand outside my door for I don't know how long and wait for me to come out?? What am I going to do leave my kids and run? Are you kidding me?
The red headed manager shouldn't be a manager if she thinks it takes 3 people to sit outside of a dressing room. If it was her outside the door with a conversation to follow. I wouldn't be as upset. But THREE people for a mom and 3 kids. Like were stealing something from a museum. If this is some company standard they need to rethink how they treat the people...
Read moreMy mom and I were taking some things out of storage she no longer needed. We made 3 trips to drop things off. Mostly just furniture and some little things. The first drop-off was just little things. 2 guys helped get everything off the truck. One just in his uniform and another in his uniform and wearing a black trench coat.
The second drop off. It was just the guy in the black trench coat, and it was all big furniture. A table and chair's, an older TV stand, a couple of nice shelves and bookcases. The dude was not friendly at all and was acting like he just completely hated his job. He was very grumpy and seemingly very annoyed when my mom said she did want a receipt.
On the third trip, we had a mattress, box spring, and a nice bed frame, nothing wrong with it. We knew they wouldn't take the box spring or mattress. But we weren't sure about the frame. So, we decided to stop by and ask. I got out and didn't even get a word out to ask before the dude in the trench coat rudly and snobbly said. We won't take the mattress, the box spring, or the frame. Like I said, we knew they wouldn't take the box spring or mattress. We had other plans for them anyway. They were just hitching a ride. But he didn't need to act the way he did at all. He could have been more polite when saying all that. There was absolutely no reason to be...
Read moreI just have issues with a place that requires you to follow covid 19 rules for safety when most of their donations come straight from the donation boxes in the back (where you donate to), then to production, (hangers) to the floor (where you purchase it from.) There is NO clear, clean, effective way to sanitize the donations. Clothes are not washed. Nick knacks are not throughly disinfected, most bedding isn't washed throughly, not to mention all of the electronics, pictures, cookware, etc. I would not purchase from Goodwill due to their lack of attention to detail in the matter of covid 19 sanitation. I'm sorry. You just dont put potentially infected items out onto a sales floor with that great of risk factor, and that many people...
