My husband and I went to Los Corrales on our anniversary and service was good and food was ok. While there some people from Torreon were there and ordered fajitas and the service personnel also celebrated a birthday and my husband was intrigued with the fajitas as they looked great. So for his birthday yesterday I took him to celebrate his birthday at LC and I will say I will NOT be back! When we entered the man at the counter just looked at us and walked away. No greeting, no someone will be with you or anything. In fact we stood there waiting to be seated and after they walked by a couple of times we seated ourselves. After a good few minutes someone brought chips and salsa and asked for our drink order. He did not bring menus or anything, when he approached with our drinks he asked do we need menus, and my reply was yes we do we are here to eat. So, he brings the menus we order our food after being ignored for about 15 minutes. Take in mind we were there at 3:30 in the afternoon and there was only a few people there. So they were not too busy to wait on people. When they brought our food, it was burnt and I had to request the sides. Fajitas for 2 come with everything by the way. As we were eating they were seating people and waiting on people promptly. So moral of the story, I gave them a second chance and it was worse than the first experience. So up your game people and quit parking cars in front to make you look busy. Because with food and service like that you won't make it in smaller markets. I have been in this busy my whole life and yes i left a tip but in hindsight, I honestly do NOT believe you earned it! Poor practice leads to a non...
Read moreSleepy Show Low is alive and full of thriving Mexican food restaurants, but none of them speak louder than Los Corrales. It’s a big, bright restaurant that’s fully packed full of folks looking to fill their guts with overflowing plates of meats and cheese and beans.
I ordered the chimichanga, as I’m on a lifelong quest to find the world’s greatest chimichanga. On the universal 13 point scale of chimichanga deliciousness, I’d give theirs a solid 8. Whoever wrapped the thing before frying it might need a little extra training, since it was falling apart on my plate. But it was fried perfectly, not soggy, not burnt, and it was packed with good flavor. I opted for beans and cheese inside instead of “beaf,” which didn’t sound super appetizing.
Our wait staff was pretty solid, even though we had to ask for waters, and limes, and never got refills on salsa for our tortilla chips. The place was packed, and I think they were heavily understaffed. Shame on the owners for not giving their employees the tools they need to succeed. Minus one star.
I was very pleased with my $12 happy hour pitcher of beer, which yielded over four full beers. And the margarita had a HEAVY POUR of tequila. Plus two stars.
But the day after my visit, I was violently spray shitting in the woods. Minus three stars.
For Show Low’s low standards, Los Corrales is pretty damn good. For the rest of us with a bit more life experience, Los Corrales is simultaneously lazy and over the top. They need more staff, a smaller and less convoluted menu, and a little more quality control and training.
Plus one star for the sweet vending machines by...
Read moreMe and my husband came here for the first time on 05/21/23. We couldn’t find anything else in show low that was dine in, unless you wanted Taco Bell or kfc. When we walked in, the cashier proceeded to seat us. Towards the back, by the bathrooms. Then this associate walks up to us and points her finger at my husband and says, you gave me a bad review. He says, we have never been here. This is our first time here ! She then says. YEAH ! You have. Then walks off and returns asking, what would you like to drink ? BIG BIG !!MISTAKE coming here. And I emphasize BIGGG. I wish I could rate this place as zero stars. We will never return here. I never do reviews. But thanks to this finger pointing associate that mentioned a review. I’m giving one. So if you want somewhere to eat where you can get accused of something you didn’t do, and no apology. This is the place to go. We explained this to our server and the cashier. And all we got was. She mistook you for someone else. So this gives her the right to call out a customer she mistook. I felt very uncomfortable eating here. And told my husband. Let’s just leave. But we decided to stay. As he said. We will never come back here ever again. My sister and brother decided to join us in show low. And said. We will meet you at the room after we eat. We told them what had just happened. And they said. Thanks for telling us. We were planning on stopping there. But not now ! And they showed up to the room with a bucket of chicken. They also said ! We will never go there. This place...
