After a 5 hour motorcycle ride on a Saturday afternoon, we were thirsty for a cold one. Stopped off here, hoping to cool off. Walked in, the place was not busy. One 2 top table was taken and one woman sitting at the bar. We smiled and made eye contact with the blonde waitress and made our way to the bar. We were not greeted in any way.
We sat down at the bar and waited. Eventually, the not busy waitress came over and said she would be right with us. Okay....
She walked down to the end of the bar where the solo female was sitting and they became engaged in a conversation. After nearly 3 minutes, we took our ID's out and laid them on the bar in front of us. Another minute or so passes. The blonde waitress is still quite animated, telling some story and laughing with the female. Not sure if she was trying to impress her or something, but she clearly could care less if we were there or not. My husband became slightly agitated and attempted eye contact with her again. She ignored him.
We waited another minute or two (now it's been over 10 minutes since we walked in and still no service at all).
We grabbed our ID'S, stood up and walked out. As we left, I did say what a shame bikers (& military veterans) were treated this way, but luckily, there are many other bars in town. And we left.
I can say that because of our treatment here, we did wind up finding the best little biker bar in town, so thanks to the slow blonde for forcing us to find somewhere else. We wound up spending about 4 hours at the new bar and have told all our biker friends about it. Believe me, we also are telling everyone to avoid Bourbon Bar because of the less-than-stellar treatment of veterans and bikers alike.
Way to go Bourbon Bar! Keep hiring folks like that and you will just keep giving business to other places! At least ya'll support local bars.... š¤£š¤£š¤£šš
Thanks for pushing us to the right bar for us. We won't be back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Bourbon Bar was nothing short of terrible, and I was only there for 15 minutes before a bartender named Alexis had the police falsely called on me. I was invited by two friends, and while I donāt usually go to this bar because of its unpleasant environment, I decided to go for a quick drink. I sat at the bar, and when I asked my friend to order me a High Noon, Alexis rudely refused to serve me based on something as ridiculous as a Facebook message.
I barely know this bartender, having only seen her twice in my life, but I do know her reputation for having a terrible attitude and no sense of southern hospitality. She then called the manager, who shockingly supported her decision to kick me out without even understanding the situation.
To make matters worse, I was falsely accused of throwing objects at her, which was an absolute lie. This is unacceptable behavior, especially since I own a successful business in Shreveport with over 200 5-star reviews. The last thing I need is police involvement over someoneās personal vendetta. When I contacted the manager to resolve this, I was given a wrong number and received no response on Facebook.
This isnāt the first time Iāve seen unprofessional behavior at this bar. On a previous visit, Alexis left the bar unattended to go outside and smoke pot, which everyone inside could smell. Somehow, despite being fired before, she was rehired, and itās clear sheās continuing to damage the barās reputation.
I will be sharing my experience with my clients and customers, and I strongly urge anyone to avoid this place. The service is disgusting, the atmosphere is awful, and the treatment of peopleāespecially people of colorāis beyond unacceptable. Bourbon Bar has lost my business for good.
I would like to add, Lauren the other bartender was very sympathetic to my concerns and made me feel comfortable through...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was told AMAZING things about the bourbon bar, but last night was nothing like what I was lead to expect. The bartender was constantly on her phone, and ignored not just us, but other 3 customers who had to get up from. in front of her and stand in the walkway to behind the counter for her to notice. the couple who came in after us waited for her to notice them for 3-5 minutes. She then proceeded to forget their order 2x because she went back to her cell phone. Drinks weren't anything special.. tom collins tasted like straight Gin and Lemon juice. She didn't even walk near us after giving us our drinks, therefore, I didn't ask for it to be fixed. She gravitated toward the end of the bar and hung out on her phone with some people we assume she knew. WE tried to get her attention 3x before just getting up and walking to her to ask to close us out. Very unprofessional bartender + mediocre drinks, not...
