Absolutely horrible food! I really wanted Chinese food this day as I hadn't had any in a long time. Decided to take advantage of the lunch buffet at China Flag. I walked in the door and they sat me down at a table. I got up and begin looking around and asked one of the servers where the forks were and she barked at me, telling me that the fork was on the table and that she had brought it to my table but I wasn't there. Almost as if I had done something wrong! Ignoring her attitude, I loaded my plate up with food that looked fantastic. The atmosphere of the place is really well done, but like many Chinese things these days, they look fantastic, but they don't meet the expectations. This was one of those situations. The pork tasted 4 days old. The chicken was so overdone, it was chewy. This sesame chicken tasted nothing like sesame. The potstickers were overdone and dried out. The crab rangoons were fried too brown. The rice had no flavor to it at all! The fried shrimp was okay, but breaded so heavily, that the breading stood out more than the shrimp did. If you were to eat the shrimp by itself, you got a bland flavor that tasted like the shrimp had been sitting somewhere all day long in the hot sun before they decided to cook it. It was gross! When I asked for a takeout of two large containers of hot and sour soup, the same serving lady gave me two containers and tops, then gave me the paper bag to put the crunchies in for the soup. No bag was given to me so that I could carry the almost boiling liquid to my car. Not one finger was listed to do anything other than to give me what I needed in order to get it by myself. I absolutely could not eat the food. I didn't complain, I just pushed the whole plate away from me. Didn't get any more. Ask for some ice water to go, paid for the meal, no tip included, and left. This was my experience. If I asked a question at all, it was as if I was putting them out because they were too busy doing everything else. The gentleman that was a server seem to be much kinder than the women. The women had a foul attitude and seemed to mad at everybody or maybe mad for being there. It was not a pleasant experience. I will never go there again. I would not recommend this place because in this particular restaurant, it seems more important to judge the restaurant by its cover then by its contents. The food is bland, not seasoned, the servers are rude and not helpful, therefore ruining...
Read moreChinese buffet, what more can one say. Not much can beat fresh cooked food, but you certainly can eat your fill when it's all you can eat buffet. Probably one of my favorite Chinese buffet in Shreveport, other than Imperial Wok, though they are a bit more expensive. Generally wouldn't recommend going for dinner, as the prices are much higher per person, and the food is mostly the same. The sushi is un-edible quite frankly, it uses way too much rice, like twice the amount that any particular roll should ever have or need. The hibachi option is nice though, and probably the best bang for your buck, though you will have to wait to get your food while the rest of your party eats from the standard buffet. Desserts here are a joke, most of them too dry to be edible. But for about ten dollars a person not including drink, the food quality and unlimited quantity is right for the price. Though I will say that one rude thing I've seen happen more than once was the person who checked us out soliciting for a tip. When paying with a credit card they wouldn't have a way of knowing if we left cash on the table or not, and I always tip my servers very well based on the service. To be guilted or told to leave a tip on my card just because they assume I didn't is a rather bothersome attitude to have! Specially considering that table service here only refills drinks, they don't bring your food to you or take your order. That and once they decided that you've have enough they drop off the check and more or less ignore you unless you go out to find someone and specifically ask them to refill your...
Read moreWe eat here often !! Maybe not exactly every month, but if we are on that side of town for a movie, doctor appointment, or what ever. So, probably six week intervals , if not more.
It's a Chinese Buffet, and you get exactly that.
We've never had an issue with food, service, or cleanliness.
Walking in, you are greeted with a great atmosphere and appropriate decor.
The food choices are adequate. This is not a HUGE place, like others, but big enough for a good variety.
You'll find seafood, beef n broccoli, spicy dishes, noodles, egg drop soup ( and others, but that's the only one I eat) with the diced green onions and wonton, a sushi bar, hibachi, big salad and dessert section/ice cream, and more.
They do offer a To Go box. I do not know the prices as I always dine in.
You'll see a mix of reviews on this place. Keep on mind that ANY person, at ANY place, and AND time can find something to complain about. Was it just a one time deal ?? Methinks, so. As I said, we go here often and would not do so if it was just a horrible place. I'm sure if I looked hard enough and close enough, I'd find something small and irrelevant to complain about.
The staff is always friendly and on the ball. Drinks are never empty 😄 Great...
