I have been here twice. The food is really good and its close to my house. However, the first time we went, we had made a reservation on like a Wednesday or Thursday for Saturday night. When we got there, we checked in and sat. A manager came and asked us twice if we had a reservation. Which interrupted our conversation and made us feel unwelcome. The second time we went, my wife did a reservation on her phone 10 minutes before we got there, for 7:45. A 45 minute wait. Well, we sat at the bar for two minutes when a waiter asked if we wanted to sit. So, yeah, sure, then he asked us what our name was and said he had other reservations for the same (common last name). We believe he screwed up. Then a hostess, who wasn't at the front door, when we walked in, came and asked for our phone number to verify our reservation.    Read moreHerons is a true gem in Shreveportâs fine dining scene. We started with the Sweet Sicilian mocktailârefreshing and flavorful with blood orange, ginseng, and nonalcoholic Prosecco. I enjoyed it so much, I ordered a second.
The Caesar salad with eggplant croutons was a unique and delicious twist on the classic. Shrimp and grits came with a bold tomato-based sauce and creamy grits that melted in your mouth. The steak and whipped ricotta potatoes were packed with flavor, especially with the savory compound butter on top.
For dessert, the Arancini rice pudding ball with candied pistachios was phenomenalâcrispy, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet.
Highly recommend Herons for anyone seeking an elevated dining experience...

The appetizer was lobster bisque in a shot glass, one small seafood tart the size of my pinky and a small Caesar salad. Even our waiter was saying how crazy it was that the lobster bisque was only a shot glass portion.
The main course was 2 shrimp and 2 small pieces of fish, rice and carrots per person.
The dessert was a shared cup of melted chocolate, which was the only thing I would consider correctly portion for 2.
For grand total of $280 after tip and tax, not happy at all and we left hungry. Guest at a neighboring table was also complaining about the small...
