Heard a lot of great things about the "FOOD" at this place, however of course 'a first impression is a lasting impression.' I'm not sure if my husband and I will ever revisit. Despite the 'food'. We walked in the door and stood at the podium only to be passed by without acknowledgement twice by TWO different hostess. The lady bartender was holding an interesting conversation with patrons at the bar. She glanced up at us but never smiled nor acknowledged our presence or mentioned that someone would be with us shortly. After standing there, we walked to the bar and asked if someone could help us. She said someone should be able to help us shortly. We stood there a few moments longer without ANY help and then I asked her is this self-seating, she responded: "Sure if you want to." After looking around, all of the tables were dirty, however, we sat at the most cleanest table that we were able to find and waited on a server to come clean off the table. (The restaurant at this time was near empty, I took the time to count: a party of two people on the far right side of the restaurant and four people, in one group at the bar. That is it. ) We realized that we arrived an hour and 20 minutes before closing. We also realize that we may have minimal options to choose from from the kitchen, but we weren't expected to be treated like we came and broke into the restaurant & demanded service after they've closed & the doors were locked. Smh. Sure enough the server eventually came to clean off the table. She wiped the table without ever saying one word to us with a blank and dry face as if she'd not only wiped the tables but also wiped any & all personality off of her face as well. After wiping the table, she walked away with no announcement as to when she would return. My husband and I sat there for another moment and decided that there was no way we were going to support this business nor spend our evening there being ignored, and overlooked to the point that we literally grew offended. I grabbed my purse and told my husband that we should leave. On the way out the bartender took a quick 10-second break from her ongoing conversation and said: " Is everything okay?" I responded: "No, nothing was okay. In fact, it was less than okay." She in return responded: "Have a good night." The good news is, we indeed had a great night @ Riverview Restaurant & Brewhouse where we were greeted promptly & right away as well as received the best and friendliest customer service, great beverage & food and beautiful views. Thanks Riverview Restaurant & Brewhouse! Now this is a restaurant that we certainly look forward to continuing business with as well as referring friends and family to. All was not lost, they saved our date night and they have certainly gained a few...
Read moreThere’s probably not enough room on here to say it all. Just know that even if there are two of you at a table and you want separate checks you will get charged $10 each for separate bill. The waiter did not mention this to us and when we questioned the server, he was very rude insinuated we couldn’t read because it was on the menu… at the very bottom under the shellfish disclaimer. Asked to speak to a manager (there wasn’t one just a bartender. She was more rude than the server. No conflict resolution skills at all. Then the waiter if ya wanna call him that, came out with my change and told me to have the kind of day I deserved.. maybe I’ll get to see him at a gas station one day so I can thank him…. But anyway 4 people drinking water which all of us ran out of. Waited 15 minutes before I had to go ask him who our waiter was supposed to be. I feel like the split check “charge” should be verbally brought up when a customer asks for separate checks. So if you don’t want to be charged for a big group or separate checks ask to sit at different tables or at the bar because you’ll get penalized if you sit together. The food is good but service is terrible and all had attitudes. Was told owner would just tell me the same thing.. so...
Read moreCandice was the lifesaver for our experience at Windrush. At first we were told that there would be a 30 minute wait in which we kind of thought maybe 45 minutes. An hour into waiting were told that a family that had come in earlier and put their name on the list and left we're going to get the next available table.. The reason why this is upsetting is because we called to try to make reservations and we were told they were not necessary. However, putting your name on the list and leaving and then coming back is equivalent to a reservation. After an embarrassing 15 minutes of back-and-forth they finally decided to sit us at the table. I'm not sure if they were trying to bring all of our food out at the same time and that's the reason why our food was extremely cold, or they were not happy with the back-and-forth and decided to punish us-either way it was 🤢 You see, we are not the type to send food back because we know it may not come back the same way it went in. Oh, the $11 1 slice of bread- Avocado toast with a smear of creamed Avocado was absolutely ridiculous!
The only reason I gave it a 3 is because Candice the bartender was absolutely friendly and Professional.
The rest of the...
