UPDATE from 4 to 5 stars 3.16.22: The food is still delicious. My husband and I often enjoy the Pollo Asada Bowl and quesadillas as we did tonight. We also tried the Cowboy fries this time. These were very spicy but flavorful. The staff has improved since my original review. Everytime we go they are friendly, helpful and hard at work. It is the place we go most for Mexican food in Sierra Vista. Keep up the good work! We will be back.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: The food was absolutely delicious. Huge chimis covered in sour cream and guac. Perfectly crisp and flavorful. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because: A) The wait was quite long in the drive thru despite being only the second car in line. B) the girl taking the order sounded frustrated & condescending both to us and the customer behind us. C) the girl at the window just went thru the motions instead of greeting or thanking us. And finally D. We ordered a carne asada chimi and a pollo asada chimi both a la carte. There was no discussion of customizations and nothing on the menu to indicate that the pollo asada was spicy but when we got home and ate... My carne asada was normal and delicious with no sign of being spicy but my boyfriend's chicken was intensely spicy before we could even chew, our mouths were on fire and yes it was before any hot sauce was added. My bf likes spicy food and enjoyed it despite the unexpected surprise, which is why we still gave 4 stars I can't handle spicy food and would have been more upset had it been mine that was spiced up. The portion size, quality and taste of the food is enough that we will probably go back. Customer service could use some...
Read moreI came here with hope in my heart and hunger in my soul, ready to sink my teeth into one of my all-time favorites: the mighty, legendary chimichanga. What I got instead was a trauma bonding session with a small army of flies who seemed to have made Filiberto’s their personal fly-thru buffet.
I sat down, unwrapped my food, and within minutes, I was in full-on combat mode. Swatting, smacking, dodging—I looked like I was shadowboxing a ghost army of disease vectors. By the end of the meal, I had a pile of no less than twelve (12) fly corpses stacked on my table like I was collecting trophies. And here’s the terrifying part: I’m fairly certain no one cleaned that table after I left.
I was sitting there, fork in one hand, napkin-swat of justice in the other, praying—PRAYING—that a health inspector would walk through the door and smell the EPA-level biohazard energy hovering around the place. At one point, I swear a fly landed on my chimichanga, looked me in the eye, and said, “You sure about this, chief?”
As for the chimichanga itself? A disgrace to the art form. I’ve had at least ten chimis in the past month—gas stations, food trucks, street corners with a guy named Victor—and this was the worst one. Greasy, bland, limp like it gave up on itself halfway through the fryer. Even the flies weren’t impressed.
1 out of 10. And that 1 is only because I didn’t get tetanus. If you’re reading this, Health Department, this is your sign. Send...
Read moreI used to like Filiberto's SV. Mostly the tortillas were amazingly chewy and just yummy no matter what you eat with them. The Carne was very good as well, not fatty or too much tendon. Price was good in 2019 and prior. After covid this store went down the drain. After church on Sunday I went there, ordered 4 Bean and Cheese burritos and arrived at the window. The wait was over 15 minutes, but that didn't bother me, it was a wonderful Sunday and just beautiful day out. The lady told me the price and I had to ask her to repeat it to me. 55$. I asked her to repeat my order and she said 4 bean and cheese burritos. I simply asked why it was so much money because they used to be less than half of what they were now asking and she said the owner increased all prices because of COVID. Fair enough, I get that. So I told her that I do not have that kind of money for the burritos and I am sorry. She said it was OK and she understood.
I went across the street to Radolfos and bought the same amount of bean and cheese burritos for 22$.
I am not sure...but I think both Radolfos and Filibertos are owned by different folks. Anyway I miss Filibertos good service, food and prices they used to. I hope they correct this at some...
