5 out of 5 Stars – A Crawfish Boil That Summons the Cajun Gods Themselves
Listen—Gyfted Creations isn’t just a place. It’s a full-blown flavor phenomenon. I walked in expecting a casual crawfish boil and walked out questioning my entire life up to that point. This wasn’t food. This was a spiritual awakening in a bucket of shellfish.
And let me tell you—Laquisha, the culinary queen behind this operation? A seasoning sorceress, a seafood saint, a high priestess of the boil. I don’t know what kind of ancestral magic she’s channeling, but it’s potent, and I am grateful.
The aroma hit me like a gospel choir of garlic, cayenne, and crustacean dreams. I nearly wept. I swear I saw a single tear roll down my cheek as they handed me a tray piled high with glistening, spice-drenched crawfish that looked like they’d just been fished out of Poseidon’s private stash.
Every bite? A slap-your-mama explosion of heat, soul, and buttery brilliance. The seasoning had me speaking in tongues. I don’t even remember eating—I blacked out halfway through the meal and woke up elbows-deep in the aftermath, drunk on flavor and corn juice.
Oh—and don’t get me started on the corn and potatoes. They absorbed so much flavor, they should have their own social security numbers. That corn popped like spicy candy. The potatoes? Creamy firebombs. I saw stars.
Gyfted Creations didn’t serve me food. Laquisha served an experience. A crawfish baptism. A sensory overload so delicious I nearly proposed to her mid-bite. If you miss her boil, you’re missing the gospel according to garlic butter.
Final verdict: If you don’t eat here, you...
Read moreReview: We stopped by for the first time on a whim and ordered the chicken fajitas and the steak nacho fries — both ended up being great choices that made us want to come back for more.
Atmosphere: This isn’t a sit-down restaurant — it’s mainly geared toward takeout, though there’s a small area to wait while your food is being prepared. The staff seems small but hardworking. Even while staying busy in the kitchen, they were friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions.
Menu & Vibe: One of the first things you notice when you walk in are the family photos on the wall, which add a personal and heartfelt touch. Bright decals make it easy to find your way around the menu — staples like fajita rolls and burgers are clearly listed, along with a rotating selection of specials like seafood boils and soul food days. There’s even a kids’ menu marked with cute animal graphics, which is a thoughtful touch for families.
Food: The chicken fajitas, described as “egg rolls with soul,” really lived up to the name — flavorful, not too spicy, and full of savory goodness. We’d definitely order them again and are looking forward to trying the stuffed crab next time (they were sold out when we went back, which says a lot about how popular they are).
Final Thoughts: This spot is definitely worth checking out if you're into flavorful comfort food with a creative twist. It’s clear the owners care about what they’re doing, and we’re excited to come back and try more...
Read moreI do not write this review lightly. I had been eyeing this place for awhile and was excited to support Black-owned business. However, I was sorely disappointed. I was charged $7 for $2.50 worth of fries. See picture included. I did not eat a single fry before taking those photos and the small container size is indicative of the small portion I was given. Do not be fooled by the photos, you will NOT get the portions pictured, and you will not know that until after you pay. I was born and raised in Alabama, and I know the cost of living is more expensive out west. However, potatoes are 59 cents a pound. There’s no reason to be price gouging at the level that this business is without any rhyme or reason.
Texture of the fries was not great. They were placed straight in the plastic container from the fryer (no aluminum foil like in the photos), so they were immediately soggy from the steam and condensation. The flavor was okay but not worth the poor service and small portion size. I wanted to ask if this was the entirety of my order but she had set it on the counter and walked away before I could even get up there to get it.
I also ordered the lemon cheesecake bowl, and the filling was not set. Im left to wonder if it’s even safe to eat. Smh, I’m so mad I let these people play with my money. Avoid avoid avoid. You’re better off...
