Update 10/13/21 It's been over a year since I've had a Decent Hot and Sour Soup, the first time I tried Fortune House Hot and Sour I didn't like it at all. That was appropriately 11 months ago, yes I should have gave it another chance by now but haven't until today when I got a small bowl and two shrimp egg rolls (All Their Egg rolls Are FANTASTIC) Well this evening I must Apologize to Fortune House and the Lovely Lady who normally takes my order and prepares much of the food, She Works so Hard for All of Us. The Hot and Sour Soup was Delicious!!! Thank You Fortune House, I thought I'd Never Again Know how Wonderful a Good bowl of Hot and Sour Soup was Again in my lifetime!!!........I've stopped here so many times now, I've got my friends going now also.. We came here, because there were 4.4 star reviews which is higher than any other chinese restaurant in the Chattanooga area. In the photos it looked like a quaint restaurant with real plates and silverware. Not true, everything thing is in plastic or styrofoam. Although the food came out piping hot and the portions were large, the waitress pretty much throw the food done and walked away. It was as if we were causing her too much trouble to do her job. I ordered General Tso's shrimp, and it was so fishy and tasted freezer burned. I had to spit it into a napkin. Maybe their reviews are considered good because they're cheap with large portions, but I cant sacrifice quality of food. I tried to explain to the woman that it tasted like it was not right, and she tried to fight with me saying "her food is fresh everday, and I was being too picky." I guarantee it was rotten one way or another. I...

Good Chinese food. I'm usually ordering for take-out, and they always have it ready at the time they give me over the phone. It's always packed to keep the food warm and to not crush the other items in the bag. Tastes fine to me (but I'm not a fastidious eater).

Cautionary Note (to others like Ed): There are sometimes well-mannered older children and youth nearby. They are always courteous, speak well, and are willing to help out the customers or the person at the front desk. Sometimes they are sitting quietly and doing homework in the late afternoons. This is, by any definition, a family restaurant. If the sterile, chain restaurant feel is more to your liking, there are a handful of other places in Hamilton County to consider (probably not Chinese, though). Or just keep going to Atlanta.
