I've been to Los Giresoles many times over the years. They almost never disappoint. The food is excellent and, as far as I can tell, authentic.
They have freshly baked pan dulce, and their drink selection includes horchata, Jarritos, jamaica, beer and a few other things. My family loves their burritos with everything; I've tried it with most of the meats on their menu. Chorizo is an excellent, flavorful choice, but the carne asada is a classic. Don't be afraid to try lengua or cabeza; both are delicious.
Really don't limit yourself on their menu too much. Almost everything I've tried has been good. Try the champurrado or the tortas.
The atmosphere is friendly and relatively quiet. You can sit and watch the futbol game or maybe sit out on the deck on a sunny day. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a...
Read moreAccording to the person working the counter when we visited, Los Girasoles is not related to the food truck of the same name in Portland, even though both of them have similarly styled sunflower artwork. Happily, both places have very good food. I went with a carne asada quesadilla that was heavy on the carne and consequently wonderfully meaty. My wife was very happy with her selection of a couple of tacos, and we raided the pastry cupboard for ridiculously affordable sweets to take with us. Although it's an order-at-the-counter and take a number establishment, the young man working behind the counter came around multiple times to check in and replenish water at all the tables that were occupied. This was a great place to stop for lunch, and I'll happily return the next time we're...
Read moreLos Girasoles is SO GOOD! We were camping about 25 minutes away from this taco shop and ate here twice, because we were so impressed the first day. We came to Oregon from southern California and good Mexican food is HARD to find, at least in Portland. I had the fish burrito with everything. The tortillas are fresh and delicious. The fish has a tasty marinade on it. And the hot sauce is fire!! It tasted just like home. Pro-tip = ask for the red sauce. On my second trip they only gave me green sauce. I almost cried! I wish I could come here on a weekly basis. Okay you get it. I like this place:) We also enjoyed Horchata and some baked goods! They have a whole baked goods counter in the front of the shop. The person taking your order will get the items...
