After driving a full day to Silverton, OR, in June we were tired and hungry. Based on positive reviews, we decided to eat at Sandees Thai restaurant. From the moment we walked in the older woman must us with a very bad attitude. She looked annoyed and said they were very busy and we would have to wait for a table. We were then seated after a short wait. No pleasantries from the staff whatsoever. The older woman appeared to be stressed out and acted like we were an inconvenience. We were very polite to her. Reluctantly, we stayed and ordered dinner. Pad Thai and beef salad. The older woman complained it would take too long to make the beef salad and told us to make another choice. We said no problem, no hurry and again politely requested the beef salad. She did not look very pleased. We should have walked out. But we were tired and hungry. The beef salad was great. The Pad Thai noodles were way too sweet and there was very little of anything else except for the four pieces of shrimp and some bean sprouts. The attitude was horrible by both the older woman and her employee. The food was okay. If you want to be made to feel like you are a bother, then go ahead and eat there. We will...
Read moreI've eaten at this restaurant more than 10 times and usually spend more than $100 each time. Our experience tonight made me never want to go back. It's my birthday and we ordered a lot of food for 6 people online. My dad went to pick it up for us. He asked the older lady if it had been prepaid or if he needed to pay because he wasn't the person who placed the order. The older lady said "yes but you didn't tip!!" in a very loud and accusatory way. My dad was so caught off guard and embarrassed that he gave her extra money even though it had been prepaid. I can't believe her attitude! She was absolutely trying to shame him into giving more money. Mind you this was a takeout order and they did not even serve us. When we've eaten in, we've always given at least 20%. I actually suspect it was the owner which makes the behavior even worse. To top it off the pot stickers were cold and they didn't give us the Thai iced tea we ordered. There's another Thai place in town, and that's where I'll be going after tonight. I'll be telling all my friends in town to...
Read moreWe came in on our way home to Central Oregon from the Portland area. I had my medical alert service dog with me, which initially seemed like it was going to be a problem, and they seemed hesitant to seat us. They did end up seating us but did so at a table off in a corner that hadn't been cleaned very well. The service from there was just okay, but the food was less than impressive. Fried tofu was flavorless, the sweet chili sauce for apps was weirdly and overly floral, and the Pad Thai that my mother-in-law ordered was absolutely the worst I've ever had. The noodles were overcooked, the sauce was too sweet, and when we had my son taste it later, he said it tasted too much like peanut butter. I ordered the yellow curry with pork, and while the curry itself had good flavor, the potatoes were cut too large, there wasn't enough rice for the amount of curry, and having ordered a 4/5 star spice level- it came at perhaps a 2. Overall, we kind of left with some disappointment, and I wouldn't be inclined to return if we were passing...
