the service was one star definitely.
If anyone wants to know what the service is like, go read all the lowest reviews. They all have to do with the disrespectful, rude attitude of the owner. That is exactly what I'm posting as well.
We stopped in less than 1 hour ago for some treats. My parents are in their '80s and we're visiting and were interested in a snack. The girl behind the counter put on a plastic glove like she should to handle ready to eat food but then she put herself behind the cash register while my dad was at the other end of the counter asking about something in the window. She kept asking him to repeat himself and saying she's hard of hearing while she's staying by the cash register. I don't know what she's planning to do by the cash register because she has to first use that Gloved hand to take food out of the glass case. Then put it in a box then ring it up at the register. She was very condescending. Then my mom asked for a cookie out of the glass case. And that girl was saying again she's hard of hearing and does it know what my mom wants. My mom says she wants the cookie but she can't grab it because there's glass in front of it. The girl then seemed very frustrated and got a cookie for my mom. And we told her I was still looking for something and she seemed very impatient. My parents enjoyed their snack but we were very disappointed in the service. Perhaps she needs a little more training on customer service. Especially elderly customers.
Edit: I'm surprised that an employee gets to comment on these reviews. I guess the owner either doesn't know or doesn't care. Heaven forbid you're the owner!. You were disrespectful to elderly people. Plain and simple. If you're short and hard of hearing and have to lean around the counter but the whole counter goes all the way across and is tall. Do you really expect the customers then to have to speak up and face you while they're looking at something in the glass? Especially elderly people. Don't you think my mom and dad who are in the 80s might be hard to hearing or able to speak louder? Don't you think you should hustle over to see what it is he's pointing at instead of staying there by the cash registers since your hard of hearing? I was shocked by your behavior. They were shocked by your behavior. It's not all about you. It's about the customer. Especially elderly customers. Elderly people are protected class who are often discriminated against. Here's a fine example of that. Some elderly people have been around maybe three four times longer than you. And since you had such a snippy comment back in my comment, I'm going to change to one star.
Another edit because the owner can't keep quiet :
Well if you're the owner, you're not going to last there. I guarantee it. First of all, I walk into a bake shop. There's very little baked goods. I mean where's all the bread?
Aside from that, your attitude sucks. You can claim to review videos to your heart's content, but you lie obviously. the facts are three people there felt you were very rude and condescending. My mother, my father and myself and we are all over 65. They are in their mid 80s. They are hard of hearing. They have difficulty seeing. You need to understand that about elderly people, if you're going to have them in your store as customers. We were very polite. We've been around a long time and seen all kinds of customer service. Good and bad. Every other place we shopped at was stellar. Every other business we interacted with was completely respectful and courteous to my elderly parents. They left their feeling like you were rude to them and disrespectful. So those are my parents. And if you think I'm going to say nothing, you're...

Read moreFirst I want to say the baked goodies are delicious and fresh. The service is horrible. I have been in 4 different times and different staff each time. No acknowledgement you even walked in stand for a while wondering if anyone even works at the place. This last visit she came out from the back and ask what I needed. As if I was bothering her. Well came in for some goodies and a coffee. Do you not take walk in customers? Had a couple ahead of me and they walked out due to nobody being out or even saying they would be right there. The put out attitude is very unwelcoming. It's the same every time. I don't think the staff are horrible people but maybe the manager or owners don't make it a very fun place to work and it shows. It's a extremely cute place that needs some life. I came in before my son walked to Mac's Place to order fish and chips. He returned with his whole meal package nicely with sauce, napkins, and a fork before I even ordered a simple coffee from the cranky girl working. During lunch rush! Nobody expects rocket fast service. But a smile and some cheerfulness goes along ways. Just acknowledging that someone walked through the doors is huge. Even if it is said from the back. I felt like I was disruptive to her day and didn't get the 2 slices of cheesecake cause the eye rolls were way more than I could handle just for a simple coffee. As I said above I don't think it's that you have crap employees. I think they are stressed out and not happy. Maybe get different manager or make it a fun place for them to work. That is so important. If you don't want to serve walk in customers then lock your doors. I actually will never come back. I feel I have gave it 4 tries and same every time. First try was during goblin walk. Word on the street was don't there they are nasty. It was true. Maybe your making enough doing side work in the back your don't need the...
