El Pollo Corona Grill — Restaurant in Simi Valley

Without going into too much detail, El Pollo Corona is owned by a family who were partners in a different grilled chicken place in Oxnard and they had a falling out of some sort but continues serving the same food that they have been serving for decades. When I'm in Oxnard, I got to that one. When I'm in Simi Valley or Moorpark, these guys serve the same exact food that brings back all these memories from childhood going back decades (at least the 1980's). I can't say enough good things about the food here. The Tri Trip is amazing, the grilled chicken is awesome as well. I used to be able to eat basically two meals (a separate chicken meal and then a tri tip meal) but now I'm down to just a combo with the two. I love the sides (beans, pickled onions, salsa, tortillas). I normally take it to go, but it's more of a fast-food type of atmosphere than a sit down restaurant. They do serve a selection of beer. The best chicken you will have. Excellent grilled flavor but not overwhelming, just the right touch to taste the chicken. El Pollo Loco is up the street but please don't waste your money. You will definitely taste the DIFFERENCE!!! Now if you want melt in your mouth beautifully grilled Tri Tip tender and tasty, OMG THIS IS IT...... and don't get me started on the fresh Salsa and chips. The food here El Pollo Corona grill is so yummy! they have different choices of chicken, pork (including pork chop) as well as a couple different beef and steak options. this is some of the best barbecue Mexican food you're going to find. I'm finally broke down in order the corona trio which is pork chop, bbq chicken, anfd flank steak.
