Chicken Bowl — Restaurant in Simi Valley

Fist off, the people who own this place are nice and make you feel welcome.

Having said that, I have no idea what everyone else ordered to give these reviews.

Hands down, the worst Teriyaki Chicken Bowl I've ever had.

The sauce is bland and doesn't have the classic Teriyaki sweet, savory, aromatic balance. I don't know how to explain the flavor, but it's not Teriyaki. It has a somewhat smokey flavor that's really off-putting for what you're expecting to eat.

I got plenty of chicken, that was well cooked. The vegetables were done we'll enough.

The rice has the texture of minute rice, and was hard, even though it was cooked, bit it didn't hold the sauce like well cooked rice should.

I don't think I'll be going back if this a representation of their best, or even an average. Just a strange flavor to be...

I have been coming here since 1996. I have moved out of state for 9 years, but come every time I am in town. The lady here has always been the same. Friendly, asking about my family, always. She knows my 2 ex-husbands even! I love her! No the atmospherr hasn't changed in all that time. The soda machine, high chair, the menu. Only the prices but still a bargain! I waited all week to treat myself to lunch take out, and was unfortunately disappointed. For $18, (without a drink) I could've had Panda. The noodles tasted like the water they were boiled in, the teriyaki is the consistency of the gravy I put on mashed potatoes.
