You know we have been in an inflationary hell for a while so eating out is usually the first thing we let go. Well let me tell you, I’m glad I refused to submit to that idea and decided to enjoy a delicious meal today. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I ordered by phone in my driveway one exit away and arrived in 15 minutes. The person at the counter was waiting for me with my order ready and packed up. The veggies were Fresh and crisp. Not old and soggy (like some places) when I was a kid living in Harlem this was always one of the few treats I could actually afford. This meal was light years beyond that. I usually beat myself up for eating out. Not this time. This was a the best lunch decision I made in a long time. Well worth the money. He made sure he opened the container to show me my order. He made sure I had a fork! (Can’t tell you how many times I got all the way back to my car (Where I usually eat) only to find no forks, straw, nankins) not this time. Everything was there. The shrimp was fresh (to me) sorry to ramble on this Labor Day weekend but I really needed that pick me up and they made my day. Thank you. Well done Mei Mei. I was very pleased &...
Read moreI wish I could give this place 0 stars. This is the poorest excuse for Chinese food that I’ve ever experienced. First it took about 10 minutes to order on the phone because the young lady was new and had no clue of their menu and was constantly asking someone in the background. We get our food home and it’s not completely right as well as missing the egg rolls for the combination plates. The egg drop soup should really just be called thick bland chicken broth with a sprinkle of egg. The crab rangoons or should I call them fried wontons had maybe a toothpick tip of filling in them this is being generous here. The sweet and sour chicken I received instead of the general tso’s chicken tasted like it had been fried in month old oil, very spongy texture like the chicken was not fresh. The sweet and sour sauce.... let’s just say I’ve had better from a McDonald’s packet. Let me not forget about the “fried rice”. This was definitely not the fried rice most people are accustomed to, this was rice mixed with an over abundance of soy sauce. No veggies, no eggs. everything was out in the trash 10/10 would never eat here again. Should of spent my 43 dollars on...
Read moreI have been frequent the mei mei house for many years.... I must say it was at its best when the two girls have been working... It must have changed hands the containers have changed and the food does not have as much sauce and sweetness to it... There is still an ample amount of food plenty of white meat chicken plenty of rice very good flavor but the sauce is lacking in amount for instance I would get orange peel chicken and there was broccoli onion and carrot this time it was just broccoli although it was done good there was just not an abundance of the sweet sauce that usually goes with the orange peel chicken and there was an overabundance of black pepper but all-in-all I will still give it a four! They just need to give it a little bit more sauce stuff needs to swim a little!!!.....Not at all as good as the past all the chicken had a deep-fried texture but soft inside maybe I'm just spoiled on the way it used to be which was...
