I took my nieces, ages 4 and 2, to this McDonald’s today (8-15-23). I had ordered on the app for counter pick up placing my order at 11:49am. I had just taken the kids to the trampoline park and thought we could quick stop in and eat. On my drive there I realized they were both pretty tired and figured I better just see if I could get our food in the drive thru. I pulled up and the gentleman said they could not do that and I would have to come into the restaurant to get my food. I parked and took the two little ones inside with me and waited and waited and waited. I tried to flag down a staff member 3 separate times as she was going from the back to the dining room. She ignored me. On the 4th time, I told her I had been waiting 20 minutes for our order and didn’t see it listed as in progress on the screen. She asked what I had ordered, I told her, and she said they were working on it. Meanwhile, other people were coming in and the staff refused to take their order at the register. I watched a staff member tell an elderly lady that she needed to use the kiosk to order. I continued to wait. After 30 minutes in total, I flagged down another employee. I told her I just wanted my money back and didn’t want to wait any longer for our food. I even said I don’t want to ruin anyone’s day, I just want to get out of there. She asked me what I ordered and once again, I told her. She gave me my money back and apologized briefly. I had to take my nieces out of there after 40 minutes crying because they couldn’t understand why they couldn’t get their happy meal. I never ever complain about a restaurant but this was unreal to me. I understand it was a busy time of day to go in. My biggest complaint was that no employee would even acknowledge my presence until my 4th attempt at getting their attention. This was some of the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. It is most definitely the last time I will go to this location. My family and I don’t eat McDonald’s often but when we do, we go to the 26th street location even if it is out of the way. We never have a single issue there. I have worked in the service industry and I can’t imagine treating customers like that....

A bit over a month ago I stopped through the drive-through at the McDonald’s on Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls, and my fries were cold. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I stopped there during the night while not even one other car was waiting in line, waited for over 15 minutes for one Egg McMuffin, and final drove off without the sandwich even though I had paid for it, because evidently they were not even going to make the sandwich. They were fully staffed as I could see the workers behind the drive-through window. Not once did anyone even pop their head out to apologize for nor explain the delay. I called the next day and told them what happened and asked for a voucher to be sent, but they never sent it. So, a week later I went there and I told the evening shift manager, a portly man probably in his 30’s, what had happened and he told me, “I don’t need this, I have just worked a long shift.” As if that is my problem. I then spoke to the night shift manager who was just getting on shift and he was apologetic and gave me the voucher and also one for free fries. I wanted a voucher vs the sandwich so I could go to a different McDonald’s because I will never go back to that one which is too bad because I work near that one and would have given them a lot of business over the years. I hate to do a bad review and usually would never do so for any establishment, but something needs to be improved upon big-time. They could probably start by firing most of the night shift, and the portly evening shift manager. Poo trickles down hill. I would not want to work with a bunch of sloths or people with no customer service skills who do not understand the concept that every customer counts, nor would I want to work for one. Unfortunately, the bad apples make everyone look bad, even the ones that are actually doing their job efficiently. They lost a customer for life. Read moreI had the most horrible experience of my life at this McDonald’s. First of all, I ordered through the mobile app and it was the breakfast menu. I arrived 10:35 at the drive through to PICK UP my already paid order and they told me that they can’t help me, that they don’t have any breakfast past 10:30. I tried to talk to the first guy. It was an old man incredibly rude. He said he can’t do nothing to help me and that I need to leave, and he screamed and yelled at me, made really awful gestures at me (I have them on camera) and threatened to call the police.
I would have actually be happy to talk to the police since basically they charged me without giving me the product, which seems to me like theft. The guy left cussing at me and other woman came, trying to make me “understand” that they do not serve breakfast beyond 10:30. I tried to make THEM understand that if I ordered they should have it. However, the woman clearly did not understand that they needed to refund me or at least do something because it is their problem since I was already charged. They just wanted us to leave, clearly.
In this place they don’t teach their employees how to treat their clients, for them, clearly is just a paycheck and not taking care of their jobs. Just an awful experience. They had no right to yell or scream, when they were the ones in the wrong. Also, they tried to make me leave saying they “cancelled the order” when clearly order was still active. I had to cancel it myself since they were no help.
They also stated they “throw away leftover breakfast packages to the trash” making it more incredibly awful, since there is so many people in need that would die for this food and they just throw it? Like what? In which world is this okay?
Clearly McDonald’s is getting more and more awful overtime, and this specific location is completely unbelievable.
