It goes against my grain to leave a negative review of a small independent diner/Cafe but truthfully, this place could do better, a lot better. It is hard for me to imagine that Rosie's has a 20 plus year history. The only food item I can boast about on this visit was for the pumpkin pie, which appeared home made with a great crust and filling. Otherwise the menu for lunch is very limited. On the day we were there they offered only 2 lunch choices, both were beef. The ingredients used were very limited, all low cost and low quality, which evidently challenged the cook to prepare a decent meal. I feel with 20 plus years experience as operators this pla e surely has had ample time to hone their hospitality skills and satisfy their customers with leaving them with a pleasant taste in their mouths, beyond pumpkin pie. I do not have high expectations of a small independent diner but I do expect freshly prepared foods which are absent at most casual chain, "food factory" type restaurants. Nor do your customers expect fancy over homestyle wholesome foods. And, it's not complicated if menu choices are limited...
Read moreI do not understand how this place has such high reviews. This is some of the worst food that I have ever put in my mouth. We have traveled extensively, so that is saying something.
My husband's sausage and French toast were burnt. The biscuits and gravy were tasteless, salt and pepper did not help. The tiny biscuit, extremely small for the price, was so hard that even the gravy, which was way too thin, could not soften them. They appeared to use margarine, instead of butter, on their toasts.
While the waitress was nice enough, she never offered to refill our drinks. She also never asked how our food was, but that may be because knows she knows the answer to that question.
And this restaurant is not clean. It is older, but that is not the problem. It simply is not clean.
Really, the owners and staff need to gather some friends, feed them inside this restaurant, and ask for, and seriously consider, some honest feedback. Because clearly most people are not being...
Read moreNot sure where all the high ratings are coming from for this place. The sign on the table says breakfast is served from 8-11. We arrived at about 10:48 am. We were told immediately before we could even order that breakfast was no longer being served as of 10:45. If breakfast isn't served after 10:45, that's what the sign should say.
Secondly, It was child portions. I ended up with the cheeseburger (child sized) & french fries. I had to pay extra for "deluxe", Which consisted of one very small, very thin sliced tomato, two tiny pickle slices, one sliver of wilted lettuce and literally, the equivalent of about a third of a slice of onion cut in pieces. When I asked for a full slice, I was brought a couple more measley pieces of onions in a dish.
My partner had the meatloaf, again a small portion, and it was burned on the bottom. I would rather pay a few more dollars and leave satisfied than...
