Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

Slim Chickens motto is "Life-Changing Chicken". That would take a lot to live up to in my opinion. I'm not sure if my life has or will ever change due to eating their chicken but here is what I do know. I have visited two locations in Sioux Falls and they are consistent. That word may not seem important until you think about the fact that this is a franchise and franchises are all about doing the same thing, in the same way at the same time.....every time! Then that word, "consistent" is like winning Olympic gold. Every time I visit I order something different from the menu and every time I do I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the chicken, the helpful staff and the cleanliness of the store (Cleanliness is a big one for me!). When I visit the next store I then order that exact same thing to see if the people and processes are equal. They are folks and they both deserve credits for the consistency. Both locations seem to be doing well in terms of volume. The "new restaurant" craze has come and gone here in Sioux Falls but the crowds just keep coming. This should tell you something about their process and their people. They've got it figured out folks! I'm not looking for a meal served to the level of "Pheasant under Glass" served with artichoke sauce ou sauce along with a nice Chianti. What am am looking for is food that is delicious, tastes fresh and served with a smile. Slim Chickens has accomplished this every time I've been there. I've had the tenderloin strips, the sandwiches, the wings and most all of the sides. I cant pick a winner and none of them were losers. They were all good. (Try the coleslaw. It's southern style). Whether or not Slim Chickens has changed my life in any way remains to be seen but what I can tell you is that they have changed the expectation for fast food restaurants and set the bar pretty high. (All you wanna-be restaurants out there.....good luck catching up!) Try Slim Chickens; but only if you want to be impressed by some folks doing...

Slim Chickens has consistently delivered on its promise of excellent food, earning a solid four out of five stars from my recent visit. The star of the show undoubtedly remains the delectable chicken offerings that have become synonymous with the Slim Chickens brand. The staff seemed disengaged and indifferent, lacking the enthusiasm and attentiveness that could elevate the overall experience. The absence of a welcoming atmosphere and proactive customer service was notable and somewhat disappointing.

Despite this drawback, the efficiency of the ordering process and the consistency in food quality mitigated some of the service-related concerns. Slim Chickens has established itself as a go-to spot for chicken enthusiasts, and the core product remains a reliable draw.

However, addressing the staff's lackluster attitude and fostering a more customer-centric environment could significantly enhance the overall dining experience. Food was great only problem we had was service. Lady took my husband's order read it back then I ordered my daughter's she read it back and then she took my order and read it back then I paid and sat down everything was great then I went up and ordered some fried pickles because I didn't know if I wanted to at first because I thought it was going to be over our budget. We got our food and my husband's was missing so I checked the recipe and it was not on there but its weird she read it back to us. So I went up and told the lady that for some reason my husband's meal was not on the ticket so we didn't get it. And she immediately got all defensive and was snotty about it and I was actually trying to be very nice because I hate when people cause a scene. And she says I never heard him order I just put in what I heard. And I and my husband heard her repeat it back to him. I didn't say anything I I I just said it is fine I just need to order a meal. her reaction caught me off guard and I'm sure by the look on my face she could tell that she was in the wrong because how she was talking to me. The girl at the other register even paused and stared at her. I don't know if I will ever go back there because of how she treated me in front of other customers. Rude young girl still has alot to learn about customer service. Also interrupts customers while they are trying to order. And on her phone...
