My daughter and I had the most pleasant experience visiting at the African market last week. We stopped there because another market we had visited was not open and it was a very lucky event. Not only was the owner very conversant and very pleasant but he was so informative about all the spices and product he sold and so informed about how to use those spices and products in several recipes we were interested in learning about. We came out ready to cook three or four of our favorite restaurant recipes. We also learned that his spice combinations were exclusive to his store and were very clean and ingredients. We learned that he came from a background of farmers and really cared about what went into his food and that he himself was vegetarian so as vegans we were able to get a lot of useful information from him.I was particularly happy to learn that his Angela was made with buckwheat and not wheat,, if you call ahead he will make it to your order.My daughter is the chef and she went on for well over a half an hour about the nuances of recipes. I was enthralled just listening. We visited once again since then to pick up a couple of more spices. All the essentials were there. There were also beautiful clothes and several cooking supplies.
