Heidelberg's — Restaurant in Slidell

A great watering hole

I am new to the area, but came out tonight to see a friend perform live; the Heidelberg seems to be a great little bar in the heart of downtown ("Old Town") Slidell. There isnt much to it, but it has a "Cheers"-esque quality to it. Were I a regular customer, I would bet money that ♪"everybody knows [my] name"♪

Smoking is allowed (something I personally was surprised at, not being from around here); the bar tenders were especially good, & although it was a busy time at night, managed to get everyone in my party served quickly and kept our drinks full.

There is 1 billiards table (that I saw); a few bar computer games and darts. The stage is in the middle of the place, & drinks are reasonably priced. There was no food menu (but I hear the place next door is good); peanuts and popcorn are free if you ask.

Overall, 5*s for a hole-in-the-wall bar, the vibe, & the service. I will definitely be back...

Like "Cheers," your friendly neighborhood tavern. They don't serve food, but they don't mind if you get it from nearby restaurants. Christi, our bartender was super friendly, sweet, & efficient. I wish we had a bar like this in our neighborhood. Everyone appeared to feel welcomed. To the management: May your establishment continue to be successful....

Service was great and bartenders were really nice. Bathroom was a bit unkept but i have seen worse. This past Sat. was my 4th time there and i must say the DJ they had was on point with the music, his name was merv i think. The DJ's the other times were really snobby and did not take any request, i saw one guy using i-tunes software to mix, Epic...
