Let me start saying that i don't write reviews as often However this place made me write a review. My family were travelling from FL to Michigan (our residence state)when we decided to stop at this location only because closer to freeway exit and name "Karachi". i am from Karachi as well so i trusted on the name, disregarded few negative comments which every business has. once we entered, it was dark and not as clean, main door is disgusting , bathrooms were in horrible shape. I disregarded all of that hoping for a good food. I ordered about $80+ food for 2 people , i actually paid them good tip before even trying a food because i had trust on their name " Karachi" Even though they are fraudly charging people, their online menu and menu placed outside and tv running menu on the wall had cheaper prices, they just crossed off prices on the menu placed on their counter to increase prices. (again i didnt say anything , Hoping for a good food)I am not mufti or scholar but tricking people like that might be HARAAM or possibly forbidden in islam. My order included chicken biryani (good quantity but bland taste), broast ( it was hot but chicken was dry inside , possibly double frying) karahi (it was average, have had similar taste in Michigan) , zinger ( totally worthless, didn't taste anything like actual zinger you get in Karachi), BBQ plater (none of the 3 types of kebab tasted anything close to actual Karachi style BBQ with smell in the meat). Naan that comes with any of the dishes are cheaper frozen naan which we eat at home all the time, they arent actual naan. to be honest, Deep brand frozen naans are better than what they served us.
First of all, i want a say how dare you guys open a restaurant with karachi name and ruining a reputation of our city. you should be ashamed of such quality , prices and fraudulent business practices. I am really disgusted by this place as a Muslim and a karachi born individual. Even though i WILL NEVER EVER go there in my life again, my main point to a write a review is to make other people aware who live close by and go there often, We as a Muslim and Karachi individual SHOULD NOT reward such place instead we should boycott it until they fix/correct and do the right thing. i know Atlanta has huge Pakistani community and i am sure there are way better restaurants than this disgusted place. Only if i had little bit more time, i could have gone east side of Atlanta where there are actual Karachi style cuisine and restaurants which i have heard of. Only if i knew, this place would be like that, i would have never visited there. Just for the comparison, we had better Pakistani food here in Michigan than this restaurant. Next day, we had Jimmy Johns veggie sandwiches which costed me $20 total, i was more satisfied with that meal than spending $80+ at this horrible place. WARNING: IF YOU ARE FIRST TIME TRYING TO VISIT THIS PLACE, TAKE MY WORD AND AVOID IT AT ANY COST. INSTEAD HAVE A VEGETARIAN MEAL WHICH WOULD BE MORE SATISFACTORY THAN ANYTHING YOU...
Read moreI have been coming to Karachi Grill in the Smyrna location for about 2 years now. There used to be a very friendly cashier (who had a beard) and the food overall had high quality. For at least this past year, I have seen a huge change in customer service and food quality.
Not only is the food more expensive, the rice and Chicken 65 is just oily. The flavors and spice is literally gone. The drinks used to be given in big styrofoam cups and are now given in tiny plastic cups in comparison.
Along with this, I have noticed that the new cashier (does not have a beard) has little to no manners and is incredibly rude. The attitude is completely unnecessary. I am honestly not sure if the cooks have changed….or if they use don’t care anymore but the increase in prices with decreased food quality makes no sense.
The only reason I am giving a 2-star instead of zero stars is because the burgers are still of pretty good quality. But the rice and other dishes are bland-quite frankly I can make better food at home if I had to.
I am hopeful that there other locations are still good with quality and decent customer service. But the one in Marietta/Smyrna has really disappointed me. I used to come here with family since the location was convenient but now I won’t.
They need to improve *quantity (why are the drinks less in quantity now as compared to before with a higher price now), quality (the dishes are bland and oily now…i mean seriously, they had great quality before….again why have the prices increased but the quality has declined), and of course customer service (no one is coming here desperate for food, you are being paid to place the order…the vibe on the counter is a bit much). I simply want their quality to be back to the way it was overall....
Read more"Rotten old bad smelly sticky goat biryani (rice) served" I am regular customer of Karachi broast for past two years therefore I am not very happy to leave this bad review but I think its necessary so that they improve their services. I am specially fond of thier goat biryani and I have ordered it frequently and I never had any complains. Sometime amazing sometime just good but last two orders were pathetic in past one month. I am not sure if the chef has changed or the manager but something is not upto mark. The one order a month old, the mutton in goat biryani was undercooked and very dry. But the one recently via grubhub, they sent a Rotten old bad smelly sticky goat biryani (rice). With first bite I almost threw up. My kids also had the first bite. On a bad day, someone would have taken this biryani to the county food safety officials and sued them for playing with public safety. I just called and warned them of their wrongdoing. I spoke with the manager, warned him to not to sell that one to anyone and told him to go and check his stocked biryani if any and he agreed that it has gotten bad and sought apology. A bad food at any restaurant is like a bad nightmare, you develop its memory and you are always afraid of ordering it again. I am sad to lose this once a great place for getting some traditional biryani. Hope they improve with this review, otherwise they are welcoming a hefty fine and closure if a public food safety official...
