Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Tennessee

I have gone to this place in Smyrna 3 times now and I’ve been disappointed each time. I feel like the employees are trying to hard to be hip and cool, I would just like to order my drink and go, not sit there and have to have a full conversation with the employee waiting for my drink to be made about who will win the Superbowl or where would I travel if all expenses were paid. Idk maybe I'm turning into a bitter old lady but just shut the sliding door and chat with your employees and leave me alone lol it would also be helpful if the employees knew the products they are selling. When they were busy they sent out employees to take orders from the cars but I didn't expect a young lady to come rushing out to meet my car when there was no line at 8 at night in below 30 degree weather to take my order. The fact that they don't have a speaker box or you can't just order at the window is beyond me. Now on to the drinks, the first time I ordered the OG gummy bear soda, wasn't my favorite but that's just my taste. The second time I ordered the Nutty Irishman hot Chocolate and it was delicious but it didn't come with a hot sleeve for my cup which I thought was odd because the cup was burning hot to the touch. The 3rd and probably last visit to Dutch Bros, I ordered white chocolate mocha, naively thinking it would be similar to the white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, well it tasted like water mixed with chocolate syrup. It was also hot and did not come with a hot sleeve for the cup. Maybe I ordered wrong on my last try here but then again it would be helpful if the "Broistas" knew the products they...

I have recently discovered Dutch Bros. and I absolutely LOVE them! First you can customize any drinks in hundreds of ways! I like lots of options and they give more than enough. Second, every time I’ve gone there they are SUPER friendly and very helpful. They offer me different options to help make up my mind. They offer cute doggy treats with whipped creams and/or a dog bone treat (if you want it for your baby). Employees have always had a smile on their faces. The other day, one employee brought out a nice drink for another employee who was out in the cold working (taking orders to speed up the long lines). Their cups are cute. I just love them and can’t stop raving about them to anyone who listens.🥰

UPDATE: Since the last posting a while back, I’ve been many times. 100% of the time that I’ve gone, the employees have been pleasant, helpful and super sweet!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Today is mom’s bday (Feb 2023) and they were so sweet again. We joked how mom was turning 21 (actually 66) and they wrote on the cup, “Happy 21st”! They melted our hearts! I’ve always been a Starbucks lover for many years and I still like them but Dutch Bros. is definitely my FAVORITE coffee place! I love dutch but this past experience put a sour taste in my mouth. I used to love this location but quality has definitely gone down. I can understand with new hires and etc but it is no excuse to be passive aggressive. I went through with a friend and wasn’t sure myself to get a drink yet. My friend, who drove, ordered her drink and paid. I then told the person taking our order, I wanted to order a drink myself. I didn’t think it would’ve been an issue as he was still there with us and it would’ve been separate anyways. He then got passive aggressive with me and said ‘By the way, next time let me know beforehand because now I have to run in and tell them it’s for the same car.’ I’ve never had this happen to me before and it’s never been an issue. They’ve just adjusted it without being rude or told us to let them know at the window. It just left a bad taste in our mouths and we couldn’t even enjoy our drinks. I just didn’t see the need for him to be so rude about it. He didn’t even ask me beforehand or anything if I was getting a drink either? The workers always ask and make sure there’s no more orders in the car too. Maybe I’m too used to how it used to be but it doesn’t not make me want to return to this location.
