Waffle House — Restaurant in Smyrna

Went to dine in after a night of bowling. I was there with 5 of my family members. Our server had piercings in her cheeks and I believe her nose as well. She also had gauges in her ears. Long story short, the bill came to $61.33. I left a little less than the 10% ($6.00). The total with tip was $67.33. A couple of days later, I checked my account only to find out that $71.33 came out of my account. I know it's only four dollars but that left my account overdrawn. Having a budget and sticking to it was my main goal throughout that night. When I called and spoke to one of the managers, she told me that I would have to call back to speak to the store manager. She explained to me that she was just a relieve manager. The next morning rolls around and again I call. At that point the store manager takes my name and number and a description of the problem to forward it to the corporate office. After doing this, she tells me that the server that waited on us that night was under corrective action for changing the tip amounts and she will be talked to and something would be done. A couple days go by and I hear nothing from corporate, so I call back. When the phone was answered, it was again the store manager (I confirmed it). She informed me that my information was submitted to corporate and we were just waiting for corporate to return my call. I gave it a week and still heard nothing from corporate. This was back at the end of January. I still have yet to hear anything from them regarding the overage I was charged or to learn if that server was disciplined. I WILL NOT be returning to this location ever again. I do consider this occurrence as someone stealing from me. In the long run, I hope with this review, I can save someone from the same situation and the hassle that I went through to try to get this corrected...

Idk what happened to this place. Granted I've not been in over a yr but oof. Bacon crisp was more like bacon burnt. Biscuit n gravy was a joke. The gravy was cold. Not even luke warm just cold. Burnt biscuits smh.Worst cheesy egg ever. Dry n all the cheese was at the bottom? Kids bacon burnt. Kids waffle doughy to the point she couldn't eat it. Coffee was old. I ate the eggs and told the waiter the gravy was cold n bacon burnt. He said ," I don't have a microwave do you want a waffle?" That comment and 1 more lack in expediting cost him a better tip. I said no I would like hot gravy and new bacon please. Prompt and diligent the food came back. Except the gravy (however they heated it) was the saltiness gravy I've ever had. I couldn't eat it. The bacon was better but extremely greasy no effort at all to soak it up. And it tasted very odd. Cooked better but greasy n off. More like old country ham or something I can't explain it. Kudos to the waiter though on trying to correct it in a professional ish manner. He is old enough to know not to microwave food but remake it. Both my kid n I for the first time didn't finish a meal or the coffee or even her chocolate milk she said tasted funny. She is 10. Waffles n chocolate milk is her comfort food and it was just horrid. Some how it cost me over $20. I worked at waffle house for over 6 yrs once upon a time and none of that was ever acceptable I just paid the meal and a half of a minimum tip less actually. Very disappointed. I don't expect gourmet there But I was quickly reminded on why I prefer to cook at home.

Last night, me and my hubby went to eat here, because we love Waffle house, but we also love this particular location. We arrived, was greeted very promptly, and took a seat. As soon as we sat down, our waitress (who is excellent, and was our waitress last time) came extremely quick to our table, and asked what we would like to drink. We were already ready to order, so she went ahead and got our drinks, and our orders. She's very friendly, and will do anything to make sure her customers are satisfied. My husband said it was freezing in there, (which itbwas) and she even went out of her way to turn the cold air off for us. Her customer service is amazing, and she deserves recognition. As soon as our two sweet teas were put on the table, our food was on the table. We had our food within 10 mins of sitting down. That was the fastest we have ever received our food, and this particular waffle house deserves the credit. All of the waitresses, cooks, are super nice and welcoming too. If your in Smyrna, and you want waffle house, this is the best one to go to hands down. This is the only waffle house me and my husband will go to.
