I usually love this place but I ordered two fish tacos from here last night and upon eating them, I discovered tiny sharp bones in the fish. I am 7 months pregnant and am very cautious about what I eat. I immediately stopped eating and called the restaurant. I was told to call back today to speak with the manager, Felipe. I took pictures and still have the tacos on my counter to show them. I called today and spoke with Felipe who was not apologetic but told me to call the manufacturer of the fish company where they receive their fish?! He said they are supposed to be boneless so I would need to speak to them. I advised him that he may want to call them since that is where HE is getting his product and it is not actually boneless. He stated that he would have to wait for approval from his vendor to give me a refund. Even though I am HIS customer. What kind of mess is that. I have been supporting his business for years and was extremely disappointed in how I was treated. I will NOT be going back to this particular Oscars location.
Update After writing my review, I received a call from Felipe, who stated that he spoke to his food rep and asked if I could bring the fish in. I did and was told that he would have to wait for his rep to give approval before he could issue me a refund. My husband was not satisfied with this answer and asked for a refund right there or at least for him to replace the tacos. After a few mins, Felipe replaced the tacos for two carne asada tacos. Read moreWe usually go to the locations in Murfreesboro, but we were taking lunch to friends in Smyrna this time, so this was our first time at this location. We have always been impressed with Oscars food and service at the 2 locations in Murfreesboro. It always tastes fresh, and the service is always spot on! But at this location in Smyrna, we were very disappointed. The food was not hot or fresh. The burritos we ordered Wet Style with enchilada sauce and cheese on top. But the enchilada sauce tasted like tomato paste with ketchup in it. Usually, we get the black beans and rice, extra. But I did not see either in mine. The steak was tough and dry. And it just looked like a big sloppy mess inside. Also ordered guacamole and tomatoes but did not see or taste those either. They were huge, as usual, but seemed to be mostly refried beans with no flavor. The menu is out of date and does not offer the things we see at the other locations.
I'm always giddy with excitement when we go to Oscars, but this was a huge disappointment. $130 wasted. We won't be back to this location, but I'm looking forward to enjoying my favorites at the Murfreesboro locations again soon. Read moreTerrible service. I ordered 2 soft tacos and specified I wanted them on soft flour tortilla, my total came to $8.23. Cashier charged me $82.33 and didn’t even acknowledge it. I had to tell her, she still didn’t acknowledge it. I asked her to please provide me with something showing the remaining $74.00 was refunding. She then went in and refunded $74.10 and provided me with a refund slip. I got to the car and noticed that my order was wrong. My tacos weren’t on the soft flour tortilla as I specified. I called in, she assured me that they would remake my food correctly. I told her that I would wait in the car for a few minutes for them to do so. After a few minutes, I go in to get my corrected ordered and return the ordered that was incorrect. My order wasn’t ready. She took my bag with the incorrect food to the back (nasty) and processed to take the meat and filling out of the tacos and put it onto a soft flour tortilla! Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!!
