Visited Sound to Summit for the first time tonight after hearing good things from friends over the past 6 months or so. We found a table right away and were brought beers and menus right away. So far so good. The beer, CDA, was really tasty. We then ordered some artichoke dip and wings. About ten minutes later, the server took our main order, a burger for myself and french dip for my wife. The server explained that the burgers were cooked almost rare, more rare than she liked personally. I agreed that I wouldn't want any red or uncooked in my burger, but very pink and juicy would be just right. She said okay, medium, that's how I like them too. In about 10 more minutes our wings were served, and we got a second round of beers, Octoberfest this time, also really tasty. The wings were very good, but this is where the good times ended. As the wings were halfway done, we realized we needed napkins. We asked for some napkins, but none came. We also asked about the artichoke dip and the server went and checked and said that the kitchen had missed that part of the order, but that it would be here soon. We asked the server for napkins again, and she said oh right just a sec. After about 5 minutes I finally went to the bar and got some napkins. Then there was about 25 minutes where we were ignored, our beer was finished and we would have ordered another. Then the table next to us, who got there 10 minutes after us, received their entrees. In another few minutes our food came. This time I asked for silverware. None came. 5 minutes later I went and got silverware from the bar. Once we dug into our food, it was really bad. My burger was seriously a blackened dry overdone hockey puck. Not a trace of pink, and after all that talk about red or pink. And both plates were just big sloppy messes. My wife was polite and ate, I just sat. It was a horrible burger and I was not going to take more than the one bite I started with. I had a bite of my wife's french dip and it was mushy and full of fatty meat. Finally I got the servers attention, and explained that the whole situation was not good. Burnt burger, multiple requests for napkins and silverware with no follow through, and no dip that we had ordered and already talked about. The server started blaming the kitchen and bus staff. Then someone from the kitchen came out with our dip, and I said no thanks. They took the burger and dip off the bill, and charged for the beers, wings, and my wife's half eaten french dip. It was a complete disaster. Gross experience,...

First time I ever went to StS. I wandered in with my co-worker after a day at work per his suggestion. I thought, sure why not, so we sat down and were warmly greeted by the bartender and immediately given menus. Ordered our beers (cant remember the name) but it was the first one on the draught list.

After our beers came (so crisp and delicious btw) we took a few minutes to order food and I settled on the Big Fungi Mushroom burger and my coworker got the crispy chipotle Mac&cheese.

It did take quite a LONG while for our food to get to us...but the second I bit into my burger, I understood why:

You cannot rush PERFECTION!!!

10 years as a chef and line cook, and this was hands down the GREATEST burger I have ever had in my life!! The bun was slightly toasty (not soft or mushy), burger was a perfect medium well and SOOO juicy, all burger dressings (lettuce, Tom, onion) were all fresh, crispy, and exactly where they needed to be: UNDERNEATH THE BURGER! Mushrooms were perfect size and quartered, and the texture OMG; Cooked perfectly (not crumbly/dry or rubbery/soggy) I could not stop raving about it after EVERY bite! Savored every bit of this culinary masterpiece and didnt want it to end.

Walked right up to the cook and told him all this and then told his manager to give him a raise!!! Will definitely be back!! keep rocking it hardcore StS Brewery Kitchen! You guys...

I'll be honest - I really loved this place for a while after they opened and the staffing just was never able to get their act together. Since the new management took over it seems that things are pointed in the right direction, but there's still opportunities to make things right again that keep me from being excited to return regularly. The biggest challenge is the space itself is inherently a problem for just overwhelming noise - but nothing has been done to try to help (baffles, speakers up on the wall instead of in my face when I'm sitting at the table...) and there's a total of two single serve gender specific bathrooms which is just not optimal for them during their busy rush times (4 deep at the Gents, 0 for Ladies...). My final gripe has been one from the start - sit anywhere, whenever, and having limited seat assignment to a serve has always been hokey, will always be awkward, and has the rediculous issue of sitting and being ignored - or nearly as bad - getting 2 or even 3 servers who aren't cross-talking and coordinating. Maybe someday they'll start to file off the rough edges and bring their food and service up to the level that their beer is,...

Great beer and wonderful food! Tucked in the corner of a business park just off Highway 9 is Sound to Summit Brewing. They offer expansive indoor seating and heated outdoor seating under a covered patio. Sound to Summit Brewing isn’t your typical brewery with only a few simple items on their menu of food and a mixture of their labeled beer and other breweries beer. The food was varied and had delicious signature dishes like their Summit Fries, hamburgers and salads. We shared their Asian Crispy Chicken Salad which had crispy sweet crusted chicken that perfectly complemented the salad. They have a selection of beer that expands almost everyone’s tastes, from lagers, kolsh, IPA’s to Scotch ales and stouts. We really enjoyed the Peanut butter Stout and the Naughty Nick, their seasonal. We sat at the bar as it was quit busy, but had the opportunity to meet Doug and a number of the mug club members who were all incredibly friendly. We will definitely be going back!

Fairly good sized microbrewery. Beer was great when you could get one. Service was bad. Got a Black Sail CDA very quickly. Ordered nachos. Took 20 mins to get them but they were from the kitchen. Ordered a second beer and that is where service left the building. Waited almost 30 minutes. Could not get her attention. She appeared really focused on serving the next new person to arrive and not necessarily anyone already there. I watched seven others order beer after me but get theirs first. I never did get a second beer and the waitress did not realize it until she looked at my bill when I asked for the check. She had totally blown me off. I'm sure there were other great beers but there are 300+ other breweries in Wa I can visit before I have a need to go back and try a different tap.

Edited after reading the owner’s reply: I suppose the original review below was for the restaurant portion of this establishment “Best Of Both World’s” and not “Sound To Summit” brewery. 5 stars to S2S for their service and beer! ———————- I have come here often over the years with many changes in ownership and menu. I love the beer, delicious food, and great service. I understand inflation is affecting everyone however $14 for a tiny grilled cheese sandwich (with the crusts cut off as if it’s for a child) was disappointing. Delicious but I was missing the other half of my sandwich (and my crusts).
