We got got married last week and stayed about 15 minutes away from El Caporal. Our 2nd night we decided that Mexican sounded good and were excited to try the food here as it had such a high raiding and fairly good reviews. So We drove into the town and found parking, they were pretty busy, a good sign... Or so we thought. We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly waitress, as the stench of stale cigarette smoke hit us we were seated. Trying to look past it, we decided to look past it and took a look at the menu. We decided to try our "usual order" at most Mexican places. I got 2 ground beef tacos and one ground beef enchilada while my wife got 3 enchiladas (2 beef, 1 chicken). The service time was average, nothing to complain about. We had soda, chips and salsa while waiting. The soda tasted... Old? Or... Watered down maybe? Hard to describe, watered down and flat would be most accurate. The food arrived and we were taken aback by the sauce... It looked like it came straight from Safeway's canned section. It tasted like it too. The rice was not fully cooked, some bits still being hard and crunchy. The refried beans were watered down and really runny and the ground beef was spongy and the taste was a bit off. The chicken looked and smelled like it came from a canned soup can and was drained, tossed with a tiny bit of red sauce and thrown in the tortilla.
We will not be back, I suggest you spend your...
Read moreI hadn’t been to the Fall City restaurant in a few years and it was good back then and then I went last night. Totally disappointed at the severity of the decline in the quality of food at the restaurant. The refried beans were light, runny and literally looked like puke. The chile relleno was nasty and when I spoke to the waitress about it she said that it’s because they are real chiles now and everyone likes it that way????? I’ve always gone to the one in North Bend for close to 30 years and they were always excellent but I looked at the reviews of the Fall City one and they were 4.0 and then I looked at the reviews of the North Bend one last night and they are only 3.8 so I’m afraid that the expansion has caused a decline in their quality. Then I find out that there is yet another one in Maple Valley. You know that old saying! “ It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality!” Really sad to say Goodbye to...
Read moreThis is the Mexican mom-and-pop you're looking for. Ordering any of the plates gets you a heaping portion that is sure to invite a restful nap. Chips and house salsa are given at the beginning of the meal. Ordered the carnitas de res, which arrived searing hot with rice, refritos, lettuce, tomatoes, guac (at no extra charge, find that in Seattle), and warm tortillas in a tortillero. Your choice of corn or flour. Overall, a surprising amount of authenticity for being out in Fall City. Our waitress recommended tequila at 1PM, which is an excellent attitude to have.
