Review: PizzA Port! â A Slice of the East Coast, Right Here in San Diego As a New York native, I'm cautiousâsome might say suspiciousâof any West Coast spot claiming to serve real-deal pizza. But Pizza Port ? This joint doesnât just talk the talkâit walks it, folds it, and serves it hot with a side of wings that couldâve come straight outta Dyckman. The pizza? Fuggedaboutit. Crispy yet chewy crust, sauce that hits the right balance of sweet and tangy, and cheese that stretches like a Sunday morning in the Bronx. One bite, and I was transportedâconcrete jungle memories flooding back between mouthfuls. This wasnât âCalifornia-styleâ with goat cheese and avocado. Nahâthis was home. And the wings? A proper nod to East Coast bar food glory. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with a sauce that actually has flavor, not just heat for heatâs sake. Tasty Grub & Grog isnât trying to reinvent the wheelâthey just know how to spin it the right way. For anyone craving a true taste of New York in San Diego, this is your spot. Trust meâthe lizard brought me back to Dyckman.

Unprofessional and Disrespectful Management Our group of 8 visited Pizza Port on Saturday, December 7th, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences weâve had at a restaurant. The General Manager, Chris, and his wife, who manages the bar, greeted us with rudeness and hostility before we even sat down. Their attitude stemmed from us having plastic beer cups outsideâsomething no one had informed us about beforehand. Rather than addressing the issue calmly or professionally, they were rude and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. This kind of behavior from management is completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business. All 8 of us are sharing our negative experience on Yelp, Google, and social media, along with video evidence of the confrontation. A business is only as strong as its management, and unfortunately, Pizza Portâs leadership is letting it down.

So disappointed. Came here for the first time while camping at Carlsbad state beach, after going to the Lost Abbeys' the Confessional nearby. Right off, you first walk in and the heat hits you. It might be 75 degrees outside but it's 10 degrees hotter inside, no A/C. We order some flights of beer, plus some wings. Then later we order a pizza. First off, the beers in the flight don't taste too much different from each other, no beer distinguished itself from the others. Then the pizza arrives, nothing special to say about taste. Finally the wings arrived, after many checks to see if they're ready. Once again, I've had better wings elsewhere, but I was already pissed off about the wait, so that might have been prejudiced. Anyway, 1st and last time coming here...đ
