I was out for my Pre-Fathers Day and my Daughter suggested we stop at Gelato 101 in Solana Beach. Let me tell you about this place the Staff is off the chain, Friendly, courteous and Patient not just to sell Gelato but to create lifelong customers.I enjoyed five different flavors. Black Vanilla, Passion Fruit, Mixed Berry, Chocolate, Arametto. I was taken back and surprised with these delicious flavors. A nice gelato shop in Solana Beach on the 101. It gets pretty busy on weekends, but the line moves quickly. Flavors are pretty good. Really enjoyed the stracciatella and the charcoal vanilla. The chai latte is pretty tasty as well.

I think other gelato spots in San Diego county do gelato a bit better, specifically Gelato Vero in Mission Hills—the gelato is simply creamier and less ice-cream-textured. But Gelato 101 isn’t bad by any means, and is certainly refreshing and tasty.

It’s worth trying if you’re in the mood and in the area. Plenty of flavor options and lots of espresso drinks...

Great presentation. Nice display and easily shows all the flavors available. Sample spoons were plentiful and the guy working was totally cool with his trying EVERYTHING. The coconut was fruitful. The lemon was amazingly sweet-sour and perfectly tart. While the Nutella flavor was absolutely nutty and creamy. Oh and the dirty chai (espresso shot added) hits the spot with that extra little jolt.
