Roadrunner Sports in Solana Beach was a pivotal experience with how I will further approach footwear. I came in with a very unique issue; a 23 year old with a neurological condition called drop foot, due to limb salvage surgery with bone cancer, in which part of the surgery consisted of removal of a nerve that allows dorsiflexion (ability for the ankle to move up). I provide this information because I wear a brace called an AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis), which helps the lack of Dorsiflexion by lifting up the ankle for me with a carbon fiber spring plate that goes in the insole of my shoes. {I have the same brace as the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, Alex Smith (QB)}. I been Cancer free for about 9 years and have had drop foot since. I have never been able to find a perfect shoe for my AFO braces. I was previously a baseball player and now am an overall active person. I needed something that allowed me to feel normalcy within my gait and I how I perform. STU, was very helpful in this process. He took measurements for insoles that will allow me to be more successful with my gait and physical activities. STU then found a perfect pair of shoes for me (we went through 10+ pairs) that accommodated with my foot structure and most importantly, my AFO brace. STU took nearly 2 hours of his time for me, and that is something that meant so much to me. STU was very informative and educational when explaining things to me that relate to my performance and how the anatomy of my feet can be fixed in a position that is beneficial for me. STU went above and beyond. I didn't give this google review information on myself to boast about my life, I gave this background information to help describe how STU was able to take my out of the ordinary situation and make light of it. STU made it happen. STU's out of the box thinking was something that gave me new perspective on my performance and the way I approach my footwear going further. STU has made a huge impact on myself and the many others that I see have praised STU for his outstanding customer service and work ethic on finishing what he started. Thank you STU and the rest of the Roadrunner staff at the Solana Beach location for giving people better opportunities to reach their performance goals.

I came in and was surprised to see this store being much smaller than the main one I go to, however I still had a good experience. Jeffrey helped me and did a great job. He asked me questions about what types of things I like and don't like in shoe comfort, if I have any physical pains in my body, and other related questions. Based on my answers it lead me to a "Max Cushion Stability" shoe, so Jeffrey showed me all the options of that they had. He also got me set up with custom inserts (expensive though). In total, walking out with a pair of shoes and inserts cost me $268!!!! YIKES. VERY EXPENSIVE BUT STILL WORTH IT. My ankles roll inward a lot (pronate) when I walk, so getting shoes and inserts to help this will hopefully lower my body pain levels. I'll keep you all updated on how it goes...I had to order the shoe in black and white online because they only had purple in the store, so I will update once I have them and wear them daily.

Popped into the Solana Beach store after breakfast yesterday to try on some new running and walking shoes. We were helped by Jayson who was absolutely fantastic. As an experienced runner, he guided us into the perfect shoes for each of us. We ended up with a pair of Brooks Ghost Max for me, which are fantastic after the foot injury I’ve been nursing. For my better half, a pair of Brooks Glycerin and a pair of Acsics that were great! You also cannot beat their 90 day return policy. Two weeks ago I purchased a pair of inserts that were custom for my feet with a metatarsal support that turned out to be the wrong approach to healing my foot. No questions asked, they completely refunded the purchase. Roadrunner rocks for shoe selection, expert employees, and great customer service!

I went to RoadRunner Sports yesterday (26June2021) in Solana Beach. I walked out with a fantastic pair of shoes and these ridiculously comfortable insoles.

I had a wonderful experience with my fit expert, Erika, who took the time to explain everything that was happening to me. She explained the each step and why it was important, interpreted the results so that I understood what they meant and really went above and beyond explaining the shoe types that would work best and why.

I've spent the last 8 years buying insoles from Walmart or ordering online, and they were better than the sock liners that come standard with most shoes, but they have nothing on RoadRunner Sport's customs insoles. It's well worth the money.

**If you're like me and don't want a lot of people staring at you/prefer a smaller crowd, make sure you do your fit test at this store. San Diego's store is bigger, but the fit test is done in the dead center of the store where everyone...
