VERY VERY disappointing experience at Earls New American. My grandmother and I visited the patio of the restaurant with our two dogs for my puppy’s 1st birthday. Let me just say, initially the service was wonderful. The waiter Gabe was absolutely amazing, accommodating, and went above and beyond for us and the pups. I explained to him that my dogs can be reactive around men at times and he said he understood the circumstances and continued to give us exceptional service. My dogs started to calm down from barking until an older man came to sit out on the patio which upset my dogs beyond consolation. They both are very wary with men due to both being rescued from cruelty cases. So at that point, it was decided among me and my grandma that we were going to inform the waiter to just pack up our food to-go and I was just about to pack up and take the dogs out to the car. But not before this man who I assume is the manager came out to intervene. He had the rudest, nastiest and downright disgusting disposition I’ve ever seen from a manager in my entire life. He came out and yelled at me and my grandmother that “dogs aren’t allowed on the tables” and to get my dogs barking under control. He was extremely rude, condescending, and hostile to us to the point where we felt like intruders and not paying customers. Unbelievable unprofessionalism. And if that weren’t bad enough, he BOLDLY and BLATANTLY lied about seeing our puppy “on the table” At no point in time were either of my dogs on top of the table. I fed my puppy some kibble on my lap. Not on the table. There is a direct difference between the two. He even doubled down and claimed he “stood right there” and saw my dog on the table which again was a BLATANT lie. He continued to berate us in front of other patrons to the point where my grandmother left in tears. After his hostility and dishonestly, I told him to cancel the food order and we would take our business elsewhere. We were ALREADY planning to leave due to my dogs becoming a disturbance to other patrons, but his actions escalated the situation and made a spectacle and further embarrassed us. His behavior was rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. We will NEVER...
Read moreUnfortunately we didn’t have the best experience at Earls New American. We love Peddlers Village. We travel there quite often to escape the city. So often we entered their sweepstakes and won a free dinner! We were over the moon excited. We were so happy to find out they had a pet friendly patio.
When we arrived we were seated promptly by a nice gentleman who got us and our dog water. (He did not say his name.) He brought us menus and we showed him our certificate and everything was great…so far. After we ordered our appetizers the staff all but disappeared. Our first server never came back out of the restaurant and we were helped by two different people. (Very confusing, who does the gratuity go to?) It became apparent that the staff was running all over with no direction at all. We weren’t the only table with empty drinks and no server checking on them. They were helping tables randomly in no particular order and others also started to complain. When we asked who’s helping us we were told “we work as a team and all run outside.” Strange.
When we finally got our order taken my Husband had the Rib-eye and I the salmon. We were never asked how the Ribeye should be served and it came out way over done. We didn’t want to send it back because we were eating for free. So we said it was fine. Nikki the last server helping us after the random other three, was so helpful and was really trying her best. We could tell she was flustered as well. Our gift certificate was for $150 worth of food. Alcohol or gratuity not included of course. When the check came Nikki asked if we’d like dessert or something else since we still had $30.00 to spend. We said absolutely! Can we get an appetizer abd dessert for home?
She came back saying her Manager said we could not take it to go and had to eat it there. What’s the difference? It was a free $30.00. It felt like we were being punished because we won’t a prize. How inappropriate that we could take desserts home. Very disappointing.
Very dissatisfied with how the manager was running shift and treating customers. Felt sorry for the table next to us who waited an hour...
Read moreI’ll get straight to the point with my feedback of our experience at Earl’s.
Service: Our waitress was very nice, but oh so slow. We weren’t sure if it was her or the kitchen was in the weeds, but she seemed stressed the entire time. We could tell it was not her day. To be sure, we weren’t the easiest table. We had two young kids (6 and 2) and some visitors from out of country - not everyone at the table spoke English. I know it can be hard dealing with a table like that, but I’ll give the service a 3/10.
Time: it was ridiculous slow. First, they took about 10 minutes setting up a table for us, even though the place was not close to full. We had 4 adults and 2 kids - this shouldn’t be a major production. Worse yet, the kids’ food took forever. They were hungry and cranky. After they got their food, the adults waited another 15-20 minutes before we were fed. Everything was just incredibly incredibly slow. From the time we walked into the restaurant it was probably 45 minutes until we had out lunch. We ordered simple things like burgers and salads and pasta. Nothing should have taken that long. Very very very slow. 1/10
Food: she-crab bisque was delicious. Burgers were good. I declined the sweet pickle relish and I did miss a good tomato and some lettuce, but it didn’t come with that. The french fries were burned and chewy. Yuck. No idea how they could send that to the table. We got actual French fries, and not the steak fries. My husband ate a salad. He said the chicken was dry and hard to eat. My brother in law ordered Rigatoni, it didn’t come with any sauce. I hope they just forgot it because it would be worse if that’s the plate they intended to serve. Pasta no sauce? Something was definitely missing on that plate. 5/10
Price: it is not very expensive but you can definitely can eat better with what you pay.
Sorry guys! Hope you improve service, time and food. I don’t usually make reviews but this time it felt...
