Hands down, the best food in the Lusby/Solomons area.

April has a gem of a place here & the food is absolutely outstanding! I have eaten there dozens of times and often tried different things: Never disappointed! Never. I have discussed this place with a lot of people & I always hear the same review: Amazing food, amazing staff!

My preference is "The Admiral s Club." This is an amazing blend of crab, bacon & shrimp salad accompanied by homemade chips & a pickle. Get the Caribbean sauce that she makes, it puts it over the top! The fries are also fabulous!

The Harbor Dog is a definite "Need to try!" As is the Harbor Burger.

Best Jerk Chicken I have ever had & I have spent some time in Jamaica...April's Jerk is still better!

Call to verify the hours & if a reservation is needed. She is very popular & the restaurant fills up quickly. I highly recommend making a reservation. Take a sweatshirt or light jacket if it is spring or fall as more of the seating is outside, but the place is 100% worth going to for all three meals! Heck, go for Breakfast, enjoy mimosas & a stroll around that peninsula, go back for lunch, then enjoy some "bubbly" until dinner!

You won't be disappointed!

Take Dowell RD (next to the Ruddy Duck & the Solomons Firehouse) down past Ann Marie Gardens, continue until you see the walls "Calvert Marina," once through those, the 5th right "Charter Dock" then the road forks, stay to the left, will take you directly to...

Beware of Bait-and-Switch... Sad to have to say something negative about a small business, but since the waitress brushed off my concern, I believe giving a poor rating is the only way this might have a chance of being addressed. Visited here today, we rode our bikes from another marina for lunch. I wanted a Harbor Salad, but was told they were out, so I ordered the Grouper Sandwich for $19, as shown on the attached photo I took. Imagine my surprise when our bill came and I was charged $24 for the sandwich I ordered. I showed our waitress the discrepancy and she literally said, "Well, it's a bigger sandwich than the others, so we have to charge extra." Seriously. I said, "Well, maybe you should correct the price, then, because it shows $19 right here." She would NOT give us the advertised price. It wasn't any bigger, it was a thin peice of fish on a square 3×3 (maybe up to a 4×4) ciabatta roll. Now, before anyone asks, no, there was not another "larger" grouper sandwich advertised for that price. Only one Grouper Sandwich on the menu. And other items were crossed off the menu, so not sure why they couldn't cross off the price and show the new price. Had I known, I would not have ordered that sandwich. I also didn't feel good in the stomach afterwards, and it wasn't a very good sammy anyway. Gave 3 stars for atmosphere because that is what drew us in, it is on/over the water. Other than that, very deceptive. Watch your bill carefully if...

I was extremely disappointed in the previous review by Ms. Gray. I was actually sitting in the table right next to her at the same day they visited First of all, She and her party showed up 30 minutes before closing. The waitress explained, (and I heard it) that they had run out of the Home Fries and would be substituting “Tat-or Tots”. I heard the waitress ask them if that was OK or did they just not want the potatoes. They did not seem to be an objection from the group. There is a sign posted as you enter that explicitly states, “ We don’t serve fast food. We serve a good food.” I have been going to Hidden Harbor for years and have never experienced bad food or service. Just the opposite. I enjoy the outdoors environment, watching the beautiful Solomons Harbor. Yeah, there are flies like anywhere else. But there are fishing boats that clean the catch right beside the restaurant. Even though the fishermen clean off the cutting boards, it still has the potential to draw flies. Like any outside dining even at home. The staff greets everyone as if family. There was not one indication or rudeness by staff or prejudice observed by me coming from the Hidden Harbor Staff. I can’t say that about the four guest. In fact, based on the way the visitors treated staff and complained, lead me to the instant impression that they were trying to get the meal free. I don’t say...

Forget all the other Solomons joints with their identical menus, ridiculously-priced / iffy-quality crab cakes, and super expensive cocktails. The best restaurant is Hidden Harbor, both for its singular waterfront ambience and the unique items on the menu. I’ve tried just about everything and everything is delicious. (A couple items aren’t “perfect” but that’s to be expected.) There’s a mega-loaded stuffed and fried hot dog that just has to be experienced, and what sounds like a bizarre cheeseburger topped with pineapple and SPAM and bacon and fried onion is legitimately one of the most delicious things ever. (Pic #2.) Most frequently I get a Frankenstein mash-up of my two favorite sandwiches, the Cuban Reuben (Pic #1). My only complaint: IT’S NOT BIG ENOUGH AND I COULD EASILY EAT TWO OF THEM!! 😊 As for their pizzas, I’m picky, and they’re easily the best pizzas in southern Calvert. No contest. Caveat: They may be unexpectedly closed when you drive down there, or be sold out of the things you’re dying to eat. Kinda frustrating. I should dock a star for that … but I won’t!

The location is amazing; tucked away on the water but still close to 'town'. I must admit, I was a little disappointed in the food. The menu has some very intriguing selections and made me want to try several things. Overall, though, I found what I ordered to be lacking in flavor - except the Rock Bites and they were pretty fishy tasting. The Chicken Roti soup definitely needed more curry, and the Cuban Reuben, although enjoyable, was lacking a little extra on seasonings. The Key Lime Crush was a very refreshing adult beverage, but it's topped with whipped cream (not a fan). The waitress was top-notch and the scenery/atmosphere outside is A+ for waterfront dining. Not sure if I'd go again, but glad I went, just the same.
