On the fifth day of the fifth month, I embarked on a festive quest for the quintessential Cinco de Mayo experience at Tacos El Cuñado Cedar Springs. With a craving for culture and a hunger for authenticity, I ordered a feast fit for a fiesta: five tantalizing tacos. The Mexican Trio: Three traditional tacos, each a harmonious blend of vibrant flavors, wrapped in a warm embrace of soft tortillas. The first bite was like a mariachi band serenading my taste buds – a symphony of spices and the freshness of cilantro playing the lead. These weren’t just tacos; they were edible odes to Mexican culinary craftsmanship. The Gringo Duo (my words, not theirs): Two ‘white people tacos’, as I whimsically dubbed them, offered a familiar comfort with a twist. They were a nod to the classic, yet with a zest that whispered tales of distant lands. Each mouthful was a mellow fiesta, a gentle samba rather than a full-blown carnival, but delightful all the same. As I indulged, a sense of gluttonous glee overtook me. With each taco, I felt my pants protest, but my spirit yearned for more. These weren’t mere morsels; they were gateways to gastronomic euphoria, where every bite beckoned me closer to a siesta in a hammock strung between two palm trees. Looking forward, I envision a future where my adventures at Tacos El Cuñado expand beyond the taco horizon. I’ll dive into the depths of their menu, exploring new selections, perhaps even daring to double the taco tally. So here’s to Tacos El Cuñado, where every Cinco de Mayo can be a day of delicious discovery, and every taco is a ticket to taste...
Read moreI am originally from the Detroit side of Michigan. I grew up eating at some very authentic Mexican restaurants with food exquisito. Most of those restaurants served house-made chips; the entrees were always draped with a white cheese and/or a queso-like sauce; lots of cilantro, chilis, and avocado. Never any cheese whiz, never entrees covered in red/tomato sauce, never store bought chips. Not that west Michigan doesn't have authentic Mexican fare, but I have greatly missed those restaurants. I thought I might never again eat anything similar . . . until I went to Tacos El Cunado in Cedar Spings. I am home!! House-made chips served fresh and still warm! Queso dip (I order mine with chorizo): outstanding! Bean dip: outstanding! Guacamole: the best! Meat choices for any entree: unbelievable! The best chorizo! Any entree can be covered with white cheese/and or queso sauce! This little restaurant on 17 mile in Cedar Springs es encantador. The staff is superb, and Michael (I think he is part owner) does a stellar job! Muchisimas gracias,...
Read moreI ordered online was quite disappointing I have never experienced this place before. I ordered to wet burritos and it didn’t come the way it was supposed to made. I tried calling but guess what no number to actually talk to anyone. Voicemail isn’t setup or something. NOT HAPPY at all especially for paying almost $30.00 for what were supposed to be meals but it was just a burrito that was missing the rice n beans ect. I wished I coulda opened this burrito up before they left to make sure they did it right and they didn’t. I can’t even get my money back or even get ahold of anyone unless I waste my fuel to travel more than 15 miles away to go to them. It’s bull chips that they didn’t do the order right . To be fair I will say even after being VERY VERY UPSET about my order the taste was good but I’m still HIGHLY PISSED that I didn’t get everything I was supposed to with my meal the rice n beans. I hope you guys get an actual phone number cuz y’all need to make it right with a refund of the...
