Mellow Mushroom Somerset — Restaurant in Somerset

After a long day on the road with 2 starving teens in the back seat withering away to nothing we were lookin for a local (not a chain) place to eat. We caught this place out of the corner of our eye as we drove the main road looking. After scouting out the area we drove back to the Mellow Mushroom to check the place out. I'm glad we did as the place looked lively inside and the atmosphere was friendly. After being seated at our table we were greeted by Jasmine our server. Her personality made us feel like we were old friends. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Pretzel Bites and Cheese Bread. The pretzel bites came with a dip that was good enough to eat with a spoon by itself. Jasmine was patient and answered all our questions regarding the choices on the menu. I had the steak and cheese calzone which was great tasting also supplied me with 1/2 of it to savor at a later date. My wife had the Pizzaiola Burger minus the garlic aioli (she's a picky eater). The two teens had ordered pizza to feast on and looked great and they said it tasted great. The teens also had the Time for a Sunday with the Cookie which looked as good as it tasted. There was a kitchen screw up though. I really hate to have to add this part in but our pizza was made but for some reason never made it to the oven. The place upsized the pizza for the error. This would normally cause the loss of stars but because of Jasmine and her attentiveness the place gets them back. The magic mushroom soup sounds inviting so the next time in town I'll try that. Does it really have magic mushrooms in it? If you go.......ask...

if you ever want a server to yell and try to intimidate you, ask for Tiffany. she didn't want much to do with us from the start, but kept our cups full. she came by to tell us our order was in the oven an hour after being seated & it would take 10 minutes.. 25 minutes after that I get a server to go get her to tell her to cancel that and just let us pay for what we had ate/drink. she never came but then a few minutes after wanted to bring our food we no longer wanted.. she then wanted to raise her voice, get hostile and screaming that everybody has to wait that long, it's a holiday weekend all while more than half the restraunt was empty and snatch the food off the table.. all while screaming in ears reach of every customer to the cooks about what we had done. she had made such a scene all the servers were coming out to look, as well as customers. as a once a month customer, I've changed my 5star rating and will never return. had she come out when the other server told her we wanted to cancel the order things would be fine, but she wanted to wait until we got the food and say NOW YALL WANNA CANCEL THIS. I will not be screamed at, or try to be intimidated where I spend my money. heard her get shitty with more than one table who had the same issue. she is the problem. I'm sure owners would be real proud to see and hear how she acted, doesn't give mellow mushroom a good look if this is how you allow and accept your employees to speak to people.. we drive from Louisville to eat at this establishment and brought people who...

I have sincerely never experienced such good service and food at the same time. Being a server of 9 years, it's hard to meet up to my own expectations and tonight it was finally done. Michelle was the most kind, assisting server I've ever had serve me. I live over 100 miles away and I would drive back to have her serve me again. We are so appreciative to have had her serve us and if we could've given her every dollar in our pockets we would have. Our food was DELICIOUS. The best pizza I've ever had and that's not exadurating. It was hot, fresh and cooked perfectly. We got multiple apps, pretzels PHINOMENAL, The wings, which the sauce was suggested from Michelle, were seriously delicious. If there's anything that we could say were weren't satisfied with which in thr grand scheme of things was not even an issue. We weren't too fond of the spinach and artichoke dip , it was a little bland, I've had worse. And our pizza did take some time to come out which was expected considering the restaurant was PACKED. This was our first time eating there and I promise you it won't be our last. I never take the time to write reviews because I've never had that special feeling at a restaurant. I felt it tonight.
