I was so excited to see a Gold Star in the city I was traveling in! I love Skyline chili and this is my second favorite! And closer to home! We were not acknowledged when we went in. We sat down in the furthest area away from the door to see out of the windows. We sat in the only table back in that area that didn’t have dirty dishes on it. The table was slightly dirty but not too bad. The waitress came back to us looking so excited to be there. Looked like she just came from working the window and someone made her serve us. She did her job and wasn’t rude, just wasn’t super friendly. A clean looking, happy, pretty blonde lady came to clean the tables around us and seemed friendly. Otherwise the service may have gotten a 2 since 2.5 isn’t an option. The atmosphere was ok. Reminded me of an old Wendy’s (but new building). The bathroom is one stall each and the light turned off when I was using the bathroom (number 1). We didn’t get a ticket but that’s ok. Husband went up to the register and paid and was asked if we wanted drinks to go (pretty blonde). Probably won’t be back unless I’m craving Skyline and am in the area. I don’t regret going! I haven’t had Gold Star in more than 10 years and this trip reminded me that Skyline is better.

The price is fantastic. In this era it’s good to see a reasonably priced meal. Had the four way, with tip, less than 15$. The young lady who ran the register, served my food, and did the vast majority of work during my visit was very pleasant and ready to serve. But! I do have a few issues. This is my second visit. My first visit, no one acknowledged me at the drive thru, so I drove away. On my next visit I elected to dine-in. Even though the place had just opened the restroom was filthy. Obviously it had not been dealt with the night before, leading me to believe there is a lack on the part of management. I love an open kitchen, but sometimes you see too much. I also don’t like seeing people eating at the assembly station, lying on surfaces where food is prepared, or constantly removing gloves to play with a phone. Also, four vehicles came through the drive-thru and at least one had an incorrect order. That’s a huge percentage. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. The best I can do at the moment is a weak three star review. All in all, I think I will eat here again.

I'm a first-timer for Gold Star. We have the other well-known Cincinnati-style chili chain in my city, so thought I'd try GS. Parking is limited. Very clean. Real friendly folks. The autumn, Tue lunch hour was pretty busy, but was seated quickly and order taken in just a few minutes. Everything was hot and delicious. So glad I dropped in.

Went to Gold Star Chili in Somerset, KY and thought I was going to be ordering some good quality chili (based on reviews and word of mouth) and thought it was going to be a nice meal for my husband and myself.

However, was not the case. Unfortunately, even though they got the order correct and everything was right in that department.

The chili itself was of no quality at all, I probably would not even feed it to my cat if given the option and would rather eat the $0.79 chili that you get for hot dogs at the grocery store. It was like someone mixed overcooked spaghetti, with a spoon full of beans, topped with raw onions, and then so full that it would fall out of the container immediately as you tried to eat it. Just very unsatisfied and most certainly will not be going here again, not just for chilli but for any type of quality service and or food.

If you're going to ever grab a hot, wholesome bowl of chilli and quickly...go to Wendy's they...
