My wife and I stopped for dinner on Saturday night, and we're pleased with our choice of restaurants based on a lunch we had there about three weeks prior. The smile on our faces did not even last until we received our drinks.
We both started off with a Margarita on the rocks. They should remove them from the menu. I'm not sure I've ever had one that tasted worse. The waitress then took our meal order.. and my wife ordered a salad and asked what salad dressings were available. The waitress told us that they only had ranch, blue cheese, and honey mustard. My wife chose honey mustard, and a few minutes later the waitress returned with a salad and had no dressing, and a story that they were out of honey mustard. We asked that she returned the salad and replace it with green beans. A few minutes later the waitress returned with the same salad and a bag of Italian dressing that she said she had just found, and asked if my wife would accept that. The salad looked limp and tasted like the inside of a refrigerator. A few minutes later the waitress returned again with the meal that we ordered. I ordered dry rub ribs, and my wife ordered half chicken. We began to eat and realized that both of these choices ended up being very dry.
We are sorry that we went for dinner.. and now we think that maybe they had cooked both of those before lunch and we just got what was left at the end of the day. This has become our belief because a couple of weeks prior we had eaten these very items and they were nice and...
Read moreFirst time inside Sonny's BBQ. Have eaten from there, but never dine-in. Right off, there is no hostess to seat us. There are 4 of us. Some guy came out from the back looked like he scared there's people here. It's a Friday night. We get seated after about 12 minutes standing there. We get to the table and the server comes over and asked us for our drink order. Then she starts telling us they are short staffed, their manager cut hours and the staff. so may take a little longer than usual. Cool.. But there are only maybe 5 tables with customers. The place is dead. We get our food and everything is cold or burnt. My entire sampler of chicken, ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket was colder than the atmosphere in there. The fries were cooked to death. The wings were burnt. The only item that was de ent was a burger. The childs grill cheese had so much garlic on it, it couldnt be eaten. I thought it was garlic bread with cheese. They recooked (microwaved) my sampler, the fries and the wings. Burger was great they said. So they take the burger off our bill.. Why?? I don't know.. and 15% off the rest. With service, the kitchen, and atmosphere. If I was a manager, I would have comped the whole meal plus something.. But that's just me. This is one place I won't be going back to anytime soon, if ever.. Oh and did I mention the slime in the mens restroom around the sink. Has not been...
Read moreCan’t review the food without tasting it, but I’ll review the establishment.Sonny’s is very expensive for a drive through/fast food place. My sister and I traveled through on vacation and stopped because they had good reviews. Im not one to give bad reviews unless it’s warranted but for $37, 2 sandwiches, 1 side, a flat soda, and missing items I’ll honestly tell experience. CHECK YOUR BAG is my advice and own fault for trusting someone word. I didn’t get to try the food so it’s not fair to say it’s bad just yet. We ordered 2 meals and that includes 1 sandwich, 1 side, and a drink totaling $37 and some change. We were eating on the go so I requested butter for the corn bread, extra BBQ sauce on the side (twice) and napkins to go. Rudely I was told, “it’s all in the bag” as the drive thru line got longer and we waited 20 mins for our food (which is not a complain, I don’t mind waiting for what I want). We got 30 miles down the road and found a very dry sandwich, no butter, no napkins, 1 missing side of corn bread and a flat soda. We definitely didn’t get extra bbq sauce. There’s no sauce on the sandwich to begin with and I’m not normally someone who complains but for a huge mess up and expensive fast food, I’m definitely disappointed. Money is money and can’t buy happiness but I do expect to get what I paid, especially when paying high prices in hopes of a...
