Subway — Restaurant in Somerville

Sometimes I like the nostalgia of a mediocre Subway sandwich, but the fives-and-ones split on this place was really spooking me. Recently, I decided to get over myself, show up hungry and off a beer (as is customary for a Subway run), and get some takeout to eat in the park.

The good: sandwich chef was fast/friendly enough same acceptable, spongy, slightly sweet bread same average iceberg/average tomato/average toppings, all of them fresh

The bad: only some of the menu is posted - I honestly thought Italian Trio had been discontinued (maybe I'm bad at reading but I could swear I didn't see it there) really stingy meat/cheese portions, like "am I at an airport?" level stingy. Not gonna blame anyone at this location yet - IDK if this is location specific or franchise guidelines. In any case, my six inch cold cut combo had like, three half slices of bologna and two half slices of provolone on it. Gonna see if the other nearby location does me better.

Overall, it's....Subway. It was never fine dining and I was full enough off the sandwich I had, even if it was meh. Is it worth it? If you're very hungry and Tenoch/Anna's/places in Magoun are convenient to you, no. If you need a quick snack and don't want to spend the $17 for sandwich/tax/tip at Dave's, maybe!

Pretty terrible establishment. I have been there a few times because it's literally right around the corner and everytime the same FLPro sandwich I have ordered has been made differently. The last time it was obvious they were putting on the same amount of protein as a regular footlong and I just left. They can raise prices all they want but I'm not paying that much money anymore for mediocre food that has no standard. Oh and if you do order for pick up or delivery I can guarantee you will not be getting anything but the minimum of meat and cheese on your sub. I told my girlfriend not to order a tuna wrap from here but she did anyway and what was supposed to be a double serving of tuna in the wrap was literally next to nothing. It was almost ALL lettuce in the wrap. Yep. It's a total rip off in this...

Twice now the working employee has forgotten ingredients that cost extra - smashed avocado. The first time, I complained in person and the woman working started complaining about how much she hates her job. She was decent enough to make the sandwich a second time (INCORRECTLY AGAIN), and then was taking it out on me for wanting my money back instead of waiting for a third sandwich. This second time, a man was working and when I walked in and asked if my order was order he said "you tell me, do you see it?". After getting home, I realized the order was completely wrong and the store refused to pick up the phone.
