I have always had a good experience at Einstein Bagels, however my experience today was extremely disappointing and that’s putting it very nicely. I ordered one of the products that contained pork and due to the fact that I do not eat pork, I requested that it be substituted for turkey sausage which I always do with no issues. Once I received my bagel and checked it, I saw bacon on it so I drove back around to let them know. As the lady who took my initial order walked away, I heard her say “she never said that” to which I said yes I did say that. As I was waiting for the bagel to be remade, I heard her clearly say in the presence of other employees “if your accent wasn’t so thick maybe I would have heard you” to which an employee standing nearby laughed. She did not realize that I heard, but I immediately responded by saying I would like my money back because I did not appreciate that comment. There was never an apology for the way in which her statement came over to me. I couldn’t believe that I was being treated this way as a paying customer and this is the last time I would be back there. Furthermore as human beings we need to be very careful with the ways we treat others because as a therapist I work with the impact of careless words and mistreatment daily. Read moreThe food is decent. However, the staff ignored me for about 20-35 minutes after I ordered. None of them made eye contact with me nor did they ask if I was already helped. Being the only African American customer in the restaurant, I refused to be the black person that uses the “race card”…. But the staff made sure I was absolutely ignored and uncomfortable. There were 4 people behind me that ordered the same meal, their names called, they collected their food and left. I got the attention of the staff members who were available and I asked if my order was ready. She asked what the name was for my order, and I stated that the cashier never requested a name for my order. I then waited another 6 minutes before she returned just to tell me that the bagel I ordered wasn’t available(acceptable). For a minute I almost let the situation pull me down but I kindly requested a refund and left the establishment. IT IS PATHETIC…Obviously there are still bad apples out in the world that refuse to accept the fact that WE’RE not the same! This is 2021! Let’s respect each other’s differences...
Read moreMy recent experience at Einstein Bagels' drive-thru was overshadowed by the rude and disrespectful behavior of one particular employee. Upon receiving our order, we were dismayed to find that our coffee was cold and stale. When we politely brought this to the attention of the employee, she reacted with offense, as if our complaint was unwarranted.
Despite our patience, the replacement coffee we received was no better. The employee's condescending remark as she handed it to us only added to the frustration. She said, "This came from a hot pot, go ahead and try it for me," in a tone that implied we were being unreasonable. It felt a little warmer and I thanked her and drove off , and to my surprise the coffee she gave was even older and I felt like it was microwaved.
While the bagels were as delicious as usual, the poor service and attitude from the employee have left a lasting impression. It's disappointing to encounter such behavior, especially from a place I have previously enjoyed. Sadly, I will have to think twice before returning to...
