Sorry, but I have to take a star away because of the flickering lights over every table. If, for some reason you feel you MUST have the lights at a specific level, and that makes the bulbs flicker, Everyone HATES it, even if they like everything else. That being said, let me get into the meat of the review. First, Sophia was a wonderful server, great job, wonderful attention to our needs and great order taking and transitioning to the kitchen who must have listened attentively as well, because everything came out perfectly good to our specifications. Service was top notch, no complaints there at all. First complaint, kitchen staff and chef, a steak must have at the very least enough salt and pepper in it to be tasty enough with JUST that on it. I had to put both on my NY Strip, and I have had quite a few NY Strip Steaks over just the past couple of months. I haven't need to touch them and enjoyed them all for the flavor the kitchen imparted on them for me. This surprised me. Steak Rule #1, salt and pepper. If it's not there and right, you missed. Don't care what else you did to it, you missed the first step. Learn how to season the meat first. Then try other things. The steak was well cooked, medium rare 100%, strange seeing as it was a thin cut to be so well cooked when the seasoning was so off. Also, a 1/2" NY Strip steak is a mis-steak, needs to be at least 1" and preferably more. Priced accordingly of course, but a thin steak is for Breakfast not dinner. Please PRIME steaks all the way, and if that steak was aged 35 days, it must have included every day from slaughter to serving. No flavor of aging there, it's hard to miss when it's there. The baked potato was a dream though. It's easy to tell a real long baked potato from speed up ones. This lovely tot had all the right skin chew of a champ. Loved it, made me like my post cooking salted and peppered steak more I think. The salad was sad though, very little to it, Even for an included dinner salad, I thought it a bit skimpy. The Peppercorn dressing was great though. Finally the atmosphere was hurt by easily turning the dimmer switch up a notch to stop the lights from flickering. Everything else about it was fine, a 4 if the lights didn't try to drive everyone crazy.🤪
We will be back to try other...
Read moreI definitely understand that they just opened and I expected some speed bumps no biggie, we're all super easy going. The host was super sweet and definitely takes her job serious. Once we got seated she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We were a party of 6 and waited 45mins. No biggie.. we got seated and waited another 10mins before we even saw a server. She did take our order, but when we asked about a few things on the menu she wasn't able to answer, she said they didn't get to try the food so she wasn't sure. We did order a appetizer and it came out super fast which was nice. We waited a while for our food to come out, a few of us were supposed to get salads before our meals came out and we had to ask for our salads. Our server never checked on our table so our drinks ran empty and stayed that way. Our dinners finally came and were terrible, the kids meal nuggets, they were so dry, someone at the table ordered a burger it was so over done, the teriyaki chicken was absolutely terrible, it look like it was dumped out of a bag from the freezer section at sams club and tossed in the microwave, the chicken its self was mushy, the teriyaki sauce was soy sauce with a hint of honey.. two others at the table took a bite and said it was terrible as well..for $18.00 ..I expected better..I took two bites and waited a while for someone to come by the table so I could express my concerns, finally the host walked by and asked if everything was okay, I told her that it was terrible and I would like to send it back and if they could just take it off my bill, she took it over to a manager, he took it and walked away, she then went to our server to tell her and the server look at me and said oh, not once did anyone say hey can we get you something else to eat, I would have choose something else and even paid for the new meal but no one ever gave me the opertunity to even ask for a new meal. Our serve never came back to the table, till it was time to pay. A manager never stopped by the table to see how our food was, never came by to talk to me about the meal I sent back, the server never even said anything about it.. we were there for over 3 hours. Again I definitely expected hitchcups being a new place and all bit wow, we will never go back. Very...
Read moreWe went for dinner the other night. I had been looking forward to trying this new restaurant and was confused by reviews I saw where they all seemed to be 1s or 5s. Quite the split. So here is my honest review of the good and where there needs to be some improvement - understanding this is a newly opened restaurant. We had the zucchini sticks starter and they were good. I had the filet. I ordered it medium rare, with a baked stuffed potato. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The baked stuffed potato was good as well. What needed a little work is the presentation. It was delivered on a large round plate with the filet and potato and nothing else. It looked very lonely. Smaller plate, some lettuce or something but it looked like it was missing something. My husband had the steak tips, said the flavor was good, cooked as requested but a little chewy. His fries were good. We both opted for the side house salad with our meals. It was very underwhelming. It looked exactly like it came from a bag of the 'American' blend' bag at Publix. Nothing else added. On the positive, they did serve the dressing on the side. He had a draft beer and I had a glass of cabernet. This is where I suggest to the owners to add some additional cabernet. If you are going to run a steakhouse you need some decent red wine and there was only one mediocre cab. Yet you have several options for white with good name labels like Kendal Jackson and Chateau St Michele. Easy fix to be made. Service - my review is mixed. Our server was friendly. However she never introduced herself to us, we had to ask what her name was. Food delivery, the dinners came out within minutes of the appetizer which I find very frustrating. We liked the inside and will try again as we live near by and want it to succeed. I hope people take this as a review of a newly opened restaurant that has promise but some tweaks to work out. Also, don't go expecting it to be like The Capital Grill or Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Its not and does not advertise as such. Its a reasonably priced local restaurant. There is no other place I know of that I can get a filet for under $30, and it was cooked and...
