Our Experience: My daughter and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, 11/19/23. I signed up for the waitlist online and waited just over 30 minutes. After receiving a text that our table was ready, we went inside and checked in with the hostess. She mentioned it would be a few more minutes, and we ended up waiting on a little bench inside for FOURTEEN MINUTES beyond our scheduled time.
Our server was friendly and quickly took our order. Our food did take a long time to come out because they were busy, but that's to be expected. I enjoyed my meal, but unfortunately, my daughter did not like hers. She took a couple of bites of her avocado toast but was immediately grossed out and sent it back. I offered her an alternative, but she refused, so the server agreed to take it away without any issues.
Then, a lady we initially thought was another server approached us and casually questioned my daughter about not liking the avocado toast. She pushed back, stating that she sees lots of people ordering and enjoying it. She asked if something was wrong with it or if my daughter just didn't like it. We explained that my daughter simply found it gross and listed out the things she didn't like about it. The lady walked away, we shrugged at each other, and that was the end of it.
Then, the bill arrived with the avocado toast still on it. I called our server over and kindly pointed out the error. He mentioned that his manager instructed him not to remove the charge... It turns out that the lady who questioned my daughter was the manager?
I requested the manager to come back to our table so we could discuss the situation further. She returned and refused to remove the charge for the barely-touched, returned food, stating, "Well, there was nothing WRONG with it; she just didn't like it, so we won't be taking that off."
In complete shock at the situation I explained, "I am paying for $16 worth of food but not receiving it, so I will at least need to receive $16 worth of food to take home if you're not going to remove the charge." She agreed and brought over one large and one mini apple cinnamon roll per my daughter's request , commenting, "Next time, don't order the avocado toast." This came off as unnecessarily condescending.
Ultimately, we were made whole at the end of this, but the interaction with management was very off-putting. I have never heard of a restaurant refusing to remove a charge for returned food in my life. This, coupled with waiting an additional 14 minutes after receiving a text that our table was ready, really soured my experience with this place.
Overall:
Pros: Mostly good food Great selection of bakery items with famously huge cinnamon rolls Easy to join wait list on the web with live updates via text Cute holiday table decorations
Cons: Long wait times, known for being hard to get a spot Cramped and crowded inside and out Very loud with lots of talking people & crying infants but no music or ambiance Disorganized and rude hostesses Questionable...

The Lady that greeted me was Super Polite she looked at her watch and said “Honey our Kitchen closes in 5 Minutes. She informed me that they had a counter that I could order at and showed me where it was I grabbed a Menu & she laughed cause there were menus back there already. I sat down & one of the Bus Boys who saw me come in, asked if I wanted something to drink. I seen a tall glass of orange juice that another waitress had made so I asked for one of those. As I stated it was the Bus Boy so he prepared me an OJ but he put Ice in it. Not gonna hold it against him cause he was being polite and he really just wanted to help. He then told me he would have someone over here to take my order soon. Before I could get into the OJ my waitress Ms. Amy came up introduced herself she took my order. I got the Strawberry & Nutella French Toast & the Cinnamon Roll French Toast to go for Doodles & Double R. I ordered for Dine In the Cinnamon Roll French Toast 2 Eggs Fried Hard, & Bacon. While Amy was taking my order I finished my OJ & another waitress asked if I wanted another or something else I got a water. My order came out. Less than 8 minutes, it Looked Amazing, Pause the atmosphere was adorable, like a in the country vibe , not southern country, but Nantucket Country. Multicultural Staff and Patrons, Positive welcoming Vibe. Staff very polite and when sitting at the counter all of the waitresses take care of you. Each one that walks by kinda checks on you. Ok the Food!!!! Actually a Large Portion Size on the Cinnamon Roll French Toast so much that I struggled to finish, eggs were fried hard as I requested the Bacon was done to perfection. Bendable but Crispy with a crunch when you took a bite. The French Toast looked and tasted like a huge cinnamon roll they give you a side of syrup instead of putting it all over which was nice cause with the flavor of the French Toast you didn’t need a lot of syrup so I enjoyed just being able to dip the slices I wanted Syrup on. Added a little salt & pepper to the eggs and went to work. The two to-go orders and my dine in order plus tip was under 60 so decently priced. Service was Good & Polite Food was Great Atmosphere was Welcoming & Positive Doodles Loved the Nutella French Toast Double R Loved his Cinnamon Roll French...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to visit, “The Breakfast Company,” in Bradenton. It’s one of the places I’ve included in my list of Places to Visit on Yelp. The first thing to note is that there were about 20 people gathered around the front of the restaurant waiting. The parking lot was full and there were also people waiting in their cars. Once we asked for a table, we were informed that the wait was 1 hour. Some of the potential diners were angry when informed about the hour wait and yet they were waiting. I observed at least 15 people pick-up take-out orders. These are all indicators that this place is worth the wait (and it really is). Here are the things that make this restaurant unique to me: The restaurant is owned and operated by twin sisters, Patti and Terri. They come in every morning at 2:30 am and bake all of the offerings from scratch. The assortment of baked goods is extensive including: muffins, croissants, cookies, etc.… The variety includes traditional morning baked goods as well as unique and unexpected items. They offer monthly specials. If you loved, it in the first week of the month you will be able to find it again in the 3rd week. No, one hit wonders here, we’ve got 30 wonderful days to enjoy what we like. That bakery is enough of a reason to come here. Scones, Cinnamon buns topped with maple frosting and bacon, Unicorn muffins, white chocolate macadamia nut muffins, donuts, cookies, gluten free baked goods. For breakfast I had the fried green tomatoes benedict. It was perfection. Those tomatoes were so light and tasty. They are on the regular menu so we can count on that offering. My daughter had the Mojo benedict – garlic citrus shredded pork and plantain chips – it’s different but it really works and offers a mouthful of flavor. We took home a Rye Reuben for my husband that he really enjoyed. Additionally, we purchased several bakery items which we enjoyed over the weekend. I should also mention that the staff was courteous, and they really seem to be happy working there. They discuss the restaurant, owners and the food with genuine enthusiasm. I’m encouraging you to dine here as soon as you have an opportunity. They serve breakfast and lunch. Yes, they offer gluten and dairy free options. You can also join a waitlist for seating by visiting their website. The website allows you to order online in the event you just want to pick up an order at...
