We used to really like this place and even bought a membership in 2023 because our boys loved it so much. Well today we entrusted Defy with a large birthday party and it was extremely stressful. We had 25 kids and their parents. We were told when we arrive at 1:45 that a party host would take our decorations and begin setting up our room and that the jump time would be 2 hours with pizza and drinks at 4:15. We arrived at 1:45, checked in and were told our room wouldn’t be available until 3pm (no big deal because an hour would be enough time to set up). They were giving carts to people who had just walked in yet we were told they didn’t have any carts available so we had to have someone watch all of the gifts and belongings at the cafe area the entire time.
3pm rolls around and we’ve not been notified of any party room becoming available. After standing in line for 30 minutes to find out about a room, I was told our room would be available around 4. Completely ridiculous being that our food and drinks were coming at 4:15. 15 minutes was not going to be enough time to set up.
We were told we were going to be in 3 different party rooms (none of them were ready or even close). The man at the desk wasn’t apologetic at all nor did he seem to care. I asked another man about a room and he tells me to hang on and goes and talks to the team leader. I looked over and they’re talking and joking around and this guy never even came back to give me any kind of update.
After my husband demanded we get a room (considering the $900 we were about to pay), a very nice blonde girl found us a clean room that was ready to go and made accommodations for us-she was the only one that attempted to help us all day! We got set up by 4pm but no announcement was ever made for our party. Everyone was in the room just sweating and waiting for food and drinks. We had to once again go harass someone to find out where our food and drinks were. We stood at the counter for about 5 minutes where 3 employees stood off to the side just chatting and laughing ignoring us. There was a woman behind the counter who was also ignoring us. Finally we asked when our food would be ready and the woman said they hadn’t even STARTED the NINE pizzas we had ordered. She said “it’s ok we just won’t charge you for extra jump time”.. are you serious? None of these kids want to keep jumping. They’re hot (it felt like there was no AC in the building), thirsty and hungry. Not to mention none of the employees had our updates on their list (extra pizzas and drinks) so I had to keep telling them.
Again, my husband had to get the team leader and attempt to get something moving considering we promised 25 kids and their parents pizza and drinks and had nothing. Finally, they got the pizzas cooking. Meanwhile we had to do cupcakes because everyone was so hungry. We had to ask AGAIN for drinks. I had to go to the counter for plates where a woman passed me by 3 different times before I finally said something and stopped her in her path.
My husband couldn’t get anyone’s attention and had to literally peek into the kitchen to find out what was going on!
There was absolutely ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE today. The front desk did take off 20% of our bill but I would really love to speak to a corporate manager because I was ready to pay NOTHING after pretty much begging for every little thing and running the party completely on our own. By the way everyone got 20% that day so I didn’t feel our major inconveniences were even acknowledged.
I chose Defy because I’ve been to parties there and they were so smooth with a couple of employees in the room helping with everything along the way. That’s absolutely not what we got this afternoon. It was chaos, not enjoyable, and frankly absolutely embarrassing for us.
I would find a new motivated staff ASAP and REFUND our money and the money of the other individuals that ran their own parties today.
PS I’m 8 months pregnant and would have liked to have an ounce of help from a company that I was paying so...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Defy, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by Emma and Ganiya, whose names I hope I have spelled correctly. Their friendly demeanor and enthusiasm provided an exceptional introduction to the park, setting a positive tone for my experience. They took the time to clearly articulate the various membership options available, along with the numerous benefits associated with each choice. This thorough explanation not only informed my decision-making process but also made a positive experience right from the outset. Once we finalized our membership, my children and I proceeded to the cubbie area to store our belongings before heading onto the courts.
This transition was smooth, and I appreciated the organization and layout of the facility. However, I must mention that my experience encountered a slight downturn upon reaching the courts. Which is why I am not giving 5 stars. One of the employees present whom i didn’t catch the name of, exhibited a demeanor that suggested disengagement and dissatisfaction, and ignored Me/ My kids as I walked up onto the courts with a simple greeting, which somewhat diminished the otherwise lively and energetic atmosphere that one typically expects in a trampoline park. Additionally, I did notice some signs of wear and tear within the facility. While I understand that maintenance challenges can arise in such high-energy environments, addressing these issues could significantly enhance the overall experience for guests.
Despite this minor setback, I found my overall experience at Defy to be largely positive. The engaging atmosphere and the joy my children experienced while bouncing around outweighed the negatives. I would certainly consider returning in the future, particularly given the excellent service provided by the front desk staff. Emma and Ganiya (Once again I hope I spelled those names correctly), truly stood out with their dedication to Guest needs and professionalism, and I firmly believe they deserve recognition for their efforts, As their contributions significantly enhance the customer...
Read moreHere's a rewritten version of the business review that aims to create a bigger impact:To the Management of Sky Zone Bradenton,I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with your refund policy, which severely undermines the positive experience my family had at your "new" facility.I want to be clear: the staff who handled my daughter's birthday party were fantastic. Their service was impeccable, and I commend them for their excellent work. The facility itself is also a great improvement. However, this positive experience was completely overshadowed by your unacceptable policy regarding unused portions of birthday party packages.I paid a significant amount of money ( $$$$) for a party package. However, when fewer children attended than expected, I discovered that Sky Zone does not offer a monetary refund for the difference. Instead, your policy is to provide "passes" with no cash value. To add insult to injury, when I inquired about exchanging these passes for other goods or services of equal value at Sky Zone, I was told, "Those passes have no monetary value, therefore we cannot help you."Let me be clear: I paid real money. You are holding that money. And you are offering me a token with no value in return. This is not merely inconvenient; it's a deeply flawed business practice that, frankly, feels like a betrayal of customer trust. You are essentially profiting from children who did not attend a party. This policy is not only customer-unfriendly but also, I believe, short-sighted. In an age where customer experience is paramount, this policy demonstrates a fundamental lack of respect for your clientele. As a result of this experience, I am compelled to give the "New" Sky Zone location in Bradenton a one-star review. I sincerely hope you will reconsider this policy and take action to ensure that other families do not have the same negative experience. I urge you to treat your customers with the fairness and respect they deserve, and to align your policies with the positive experiences your staff works...
