This location does not reflect the service and quality received at all other smoothie King franchises. I hope management see's this review and steps up quality control. I will make the 5 miles drive to the next location from now on.

I go to smoothie King almost daily (I'm borderline addicted to the pure recharge add on).
I normally visit the location on Lockwood and university but I pass this location on Saturdays.
Today, We ordered 4 smoothies for 23 dollars and change.
3 choca locka and 1 coffee high protein WITH PURE RECHARGE ADD-ON.
Within a minute of being on the road my kids say daddy what is this. I look and notice the texture is weird.. chunky and wet.. but the issue is, the bottom half is all water and the top us like flavored ice. But tastes horrible. Perhaps missing a key ingredient?
45 minutes later with my own smoothie I can promise you their was no shot of pure recharge in my smoothie. It's tough when you pay for things and can't check to make sure they in fact received. Anyone adding protein or any health add ons may never know if they did or did not receive what they paid for and expected.
I will continue to visit the amazing location on Lockwood and university and I recommend everyone else do the same.
PSA: The young women taking orders and making the smoothie were nice and friendly. Sounds like more training is needed or more frequent quality control...

I order the same exact thing every visit and I customize my order through substitution. When a customer asks to omit or substitute any particular ingredient, whether the counter person THINKS that ingredient is in it or not, the answer is OKAY. That's it. Everytime I order my smoothie I get, "Oh, that's not in it", when in fact, IT IS. Just do as the customer asks and shut it up. I'm literally sick of requesting a particular ingredient to be omitted , for allergy reasons, and they insist it's not in it so they don't put the request on the order, then low & behold, the smoothie doesnt taste right OR 20 mins later, I'm getting an allergic reaction. Read moreUPDATE: The manager was in contact with me and did her best to make this right. I have changed change my review from two stars up to three stars because the incident should not have happened in the first place but I do appreciate the manager trying to make things right.
The 2 young men working were polite and the smoothies were good. The problem was sanitation/ improper or no mask wearing. I understand there is no requirement in Manatee County however due to the current risk and undoing pandemic, restaurant workers should not only wear masks but wear them correctly. One young man had no mask, the other kept touching his mask which was dirty and his face because his mask was not staying on. No hand washing observed.
