Where in the world do I begin? As a former server I give prompts wherever due. That being said, the food is wonderful and my coworkers were outstanding and work very hard. The customers, my many regular customers and the employees are literally the only reason I stayed more than the first couple of weeks. I worked for the owner, Riad, for 5 months. I was a very dedicated and dependable employee, worked extra shifts whenever I was needed and available (especially when employees would quit due to the same reason I left), gave my job my all and tried my best which cannot be denied. I had not waitressed in about 20 years so I did have a hard time the first month or so but that doesn't give anyone, especially Riad the right to repeatedly verbally abuse me, never. I won't go into was was continually yelled at me but the “F” word was his word of choice. Despite my abuse and witnessing others being verbally as well as physically assaulted I continued because I needed my job. Yes, I said physically assaulted. Someone in the kitchen was upset for unknown reasons and threw a pan on the floor. I saw this employee slapped in the face by Riad and when he tried to walk away he was punched in the side of the head several times. Needless to say, he did not return. I couldn't believe what I saw but again, I needed my job and continued to work for Riad. A person can only take so much. My “so much” ended when I asked if I could work the upcoming Saturday night. I was snarled at, yelled at and told “don't talk to me”. This was the day I walked out despite needing my job. I can’t let this be unknown to any current or future customers because I believe they have a right to know who they are supporting financially. I'm not telling anyone not to give Riad your business, just letting everyone know how I and many other employees are treated...
Read moreWe hadn't had Acropolis in 7 years since we moved to the West Coast, moved back, and we go back to have their delicious food yesterday (Saturday) around 2pm. Wasn't busy, they had their dining room closed, but you could eat at the Ice Bar next door. We went to make an order with the lady inside Acropolis, and the rudeness in her tone and nonverbal body language was enough to repel us from eating there. I simply asked for a menu so we can place an order. As if I was hindering her day with that one question, she gets snooty with me and just snaps "Behind you" I said we were gonna be dining in the ice bar, and she said "They'll get your order", and glares at my family and I like we truly just ruined her day. Well we went and sat in the Ice Bar, and no service for around 10 mins. So we saw ourselves out and took our money and business elsewhere. I was really looking forward to enjoying their pizza, but I won't give business to a restaurant if your employees have no customer service skills and are rude to their customers. You should feel welcomed to dine in with a restaurant, not feel like your being shunned and a hindrance to them. So for this reason 1 star, for no service and horrible customer service on both the Acropolis side for their rudeness, as well as The Ice Bar for not greeting us after...
Read moreHave eaten here a few times before. The food is very good. Extremely authentic Greek and Middle East. The hummus is very tasty and the souvlaki is much better quality meat than is often used at such places. Was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The servers are young but very helpful. They appear to do everything, from hosting to order taking to expediting and bussing. The prices here are also quite good. The wine list, although not extensive, is broad enough to provide a range of types. I noticed whites ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Riesling. Similar range of reds. The price per glass was on the low side, which is unusual these days. Well drinks were $5. I think the most expensive entree was about $14-$15 area. Sandwiches are about $7 and everything seems to come with fries or a salad or both. Hard to beat these days. It is a family place, so the acoustics let you hear the louder kids, which was the only negative I saw, but that is not the restaurant's doing. Recommend this for lunch and dinner and late night. Seems to stay open later than most similar places in the area. There also appears to be a bar area where you can get drinks and food later than many places in this area. From what I could see, the owner and the cooks are from the Med, so the food is authentic. ...
