Where in the world do I begin? As a former server I give prompts wherever due. That being said, the food is wonderful and my coworkers were outstanding and work very hard. The customers, my many regular customers and the employees are literally the only reason I stayed more than the first couple of weeks. I worked for the owner, Riad, for 5 months. I was a very dedicated and dependable employee, worked extra shifts whenever I was needed and available (especially when employees would quit due to the same reason I left), gave my job my all and tried my best which cannot be denied. I had not waitressed in about 20 years so I did have a hard time the first month or so but that doesn't give anyone, especially Riad the right to repeatedly verbally abuse me, never. I won't go into was was continually yelled at me but the “F” word was his word of choice. Despite my abuse and witnessing others being verbally as well as physically assaulted I continued because I needed my job. Yes, I said physically assaulted. Someone in the kitchen was upset for unknown reasons and threw a pan on the floor. I saw this employee slapped in the face by Riad and when he tried to walk away he was punched in the side of the head several times. Needless to say, he did not return. I couldn't believe what I saw but again, I needed my job and continued to work for Riad. A person can only take so much. My “so much” ended when I asked if I could work the upcoming Saturday night. I was snarled at, yelled at and told “don't talk to me”. This was the day I walked out despite needing my job. I can’t let this be unknown to any current or future customers because I believe they have a right to know who they are supporting financially. I'm not telling anyone not to give Riad your business, just letting everyone know how I and many other employees are treated...

We hadn't had Acropolis in 7 years since we moved to the West Coast, moved back, and we go back to have their delicious food yesterday (Saturday) around 2pm. Wasn't busy, they had their dining room closed, but you could eat at the Ice Bar next door. We went to make an order with the lady inside Acropolis, and the rudeness in her tone and nonverbal body language was enough to repel us from eating there. I simply asked for a menu so we can place an order. As if I was hindering her day with that one question, she gets snooty with me and just snaps "Behind you" I said we were gonna be dining in the ice bar, and she said "They'll get your order", and glares at my family and I like we truly just ruined her day. Well we went and sat in the Ice Bar, and no service for around 10 mins. So we saw ourselves out and took our money and business elsewhere. I was really looking forward to enjoying their pizza, but I won't give business to a restaurant if your employees have no customer service skills and are rude to their customers. You should feel welcomed to dine in with a restaurant, not feel like your being shunned and a hindrance to them. So for this reason 1 star, for no service and horrible customer service on both the Acropolis side for their rudeness, as well as The Ice Bar for not greeting us after...

Have eaten here a few times before. The food is very good. Extremely authentic Greek and Middle East. The hummus is very tasty and the souvlaki is much better quality meat than is often used at such places. Was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The servers are young but very helpful. They appear to do everything, from hosting to order taking to expediting and bussing. The prices here are also quite good. The wine list, although not extensive, is broad enough to provide a range of types. I noticed whites ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Riesling. Similar range of reds. The price per glass was on the low side, which is unusual these days. Well drinks were $5. I think the most expensive entree was about $14-$15 area. Sandwiches are about $7 and everything seems to come with fries or a salad or both. Hard to beat these days. It is a family place, so the acoustics let you hear the louder kids, which was the only negative I saw, but that is not the restaurant's doing. Recommend this for lunch and dinner and late night. Seems to stay open later than most similar places in the area. There also appears to be a bar area where you can get drinks and food later than many places in this area. From what I could see, the owner and the cooks are from the Med, so the food is authentic. ...

First, I have to start by saying I'm not a super fan of Greek food. This was our first time at this Greek restaurant and I wanted to leave and go somewhere else... but we stayed and I was surprisingly pleased. I ordered the Athenian combo platter with marinated chicken, steak, over home-made hummus and garnished with tomatoes, olives, and pickled banana peppers. This was served with a single pita cut in quarters... Which were I to have been able to eat the whole platter would not have been enough to finish the plate of hummus and meat. This all came with a Greek side salad, and the salad dressing was amazing. My husband ordered the combination platter which had a little bit of everything on it... A pita, the marinated chicken, the steak, and the Gyro meat with a salad and french fries. He said salad was nice and light as expected. The cheese was good. He didn't care for the Taziki sauce alone but it was good with the pita and meats. The salad would have been better on the side but the quantity and quality was unusual for this day and age. We both took home food which is also unusual. Our server was terrific, funny, and made great suggestions that didn't disappoint. It seemed as though all the wait staff worked together to make sure our experience was great! All in all I would definitely come back!

Usually eat at Mythos but thought we’d try Acropolis after a not great experience at Mythos last time. The reviews seemed good. After spending $22 on just my lunch which was one piece of spanikopita, side Greek salad and a baklava, I have to say we will be sticking with Mythos. The packing for take out was horrible. I had to ask for a pita and t sauce. It comes with it at Mythos. They also added on $4 for that without telling me at the end. I figured after paying almost $10 for an appetizer of the spanikopita they were throwing the pita in. Left a tip. Wish I would not have. The spanikopita was very moist and spicy but I prefer Mythos where it’s more flaky. I didn’t like the aftertaste. I’m not sure what that is. There was no sauce so I’m glad I asked for the t sauce. It was way too spicy and not mild. Like a cucumber sauce should be. The salad was a mess and they left out the dressing which rendered it inedible. Tossed. Can’t eat Greek salad with no dressing. The baklava was supposed to be two pieces but turned out being one and horrible! How do u mess up Baklava??? Not sweet. Old. No taste. Horrible. We couldn’t eat it. Very disappointed. Will not go back. I’m not sure how they have these great reviews.

The place for its size and decor has a cool vib. The service was average. Not bad. All basic based covered.. Order was taken, food brought shortly there after, was asked if i wanted coffee or desert as the bill was handed to me. But i came for the food. How was the food? Meh. There are some foods that are so ingrained in our culture and simplistic that you come to expect greatness even if wrapped in simplicity. Pizza, wings, burgers, gyros are these kinds of foods that you still expect simple food wrapped in flavor excellence. Went here with hopes. Not high hopes…just hopes. Today was not that day. This place was not that place. The food looked good but the flavor left you wanting. This is not a place that cuts the gyro meat off the giant rotisserie pole. It tasted like it was shipped in frozen then thawed and cooked. Freezing always zapps the flavor. If you go there save your appetite for something else snd skip the $13 Lunch” sandwich and fries. Not bad but not really that good either. Completely forget about being great.
