A little thing about Bogarts restaurant.... We go in with a gift card, get a terrible waitress that started off our interaction with "how are you doing tonight, kids?" She's no older than 19 or 20. Not amusing, child. Second, she keeps on being shoddy because one of her friends is seated in the booth in front of us and likely tells her that my husband and I mentioned (quietly, to each OTHER) that we didn't appreciate how she was acting. She let our drinks run out, hardly came back, once this lady said something to her - she never touched my drink cup to refill it again....
Then, at the very end of the service, my husband had EARNED the gift card that he attempted to use.... The waitress then decided to try and GIVE HERSELF A 20% TIP added onto a $41.72 bill. The manager, in her unprofessional best, decided to tell people at the bar what was going on and said my husband was making a big fuss "over a dollar." It wasn't over a dollar. It was over $8.34....which this waitress did NOT deserve. Then, my husband calls back (as he did not want to make a scene, we are - after all - ADULTS) to speak to a manager, who decides to defend the waitress and tell him that there's some kind of fee for using the gift card all the time, every time, at a restaurant.
To humor me, he calls the gift card company.... AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING on this type of card. Ridiculous behavior. This is just a warning to anyone trying to use a gift card at this establishment, or if you happen to mention you don't like your waitress to anyone you're with: if you say anything bad about the waitress, she'll try to take a 20% tip from you when she doesn't deserve it.
Listen, every single piece of your receipt (regardless if it's on a gift card - you can do the math), they are going to charge you 20% ON EVERY ITEM to make up that tip if you use a card, regardless of whether you decide to tip or not. Frankly, this is just bad business, and it's such a shame - the food wasn't half bad, though they nickel and dime you to death if you want anything other than the very...
Read moreThe manager Ms neicy or however you spell it was very rude and disrespectful. I hate to say it but this lady is truly racist and tries to hide it. I was doing a dash today and was sitting inside at a table waiting on the order to be completed, a worker asked nicely if I could move from the table to the bar so that they could prep the tables for customers I kindly understood and said yes sure however when I went to sit at the bar as directed the manager Ms neicy said NO you can't sit here I said ma'am why the seats are empty and all customers are seated she looked at me and said "you're not old enough so I kindly said ma'am I'm 29 years old she rolled her eyes and said she didn't care and walked off so I kindly brung her my ID and said see ma'am I am old enough this lady had the nerve to say she didn't care she just don't want me sitting at her bar. (I am African-American by the way) there were about 5 or 6 empty chairs at the bar only 1 Caucasian Male sitting at it no customers were waiting to be seated or anything so why wasn't I allowed to sit at the bar white the other Caucasian male? 0i proceed to expose her hate kindly by asking her for a recommendation on what to drink just looking of course and seeing how her interaction would be with me well to my not so surprise she was very rude rolling her eyes and sucking her teeth then slammed a menu on the table and said she don't give recommendations then took my ID and took a picture of it on her phone. I got my ID back and just walked away from the bar shaking my head. This is not ok being treated this way by the manager even another worker who witnessed it apologized to me for the managers behavior and gave me her name. I have since then contacted the appropriate people to further investigate this matter and to see if this manager violated any of my human and civil rights and to evaluate her performance as a manager to see if she meets the qualifications I will push this matter until she is fired or the business is shut down I've had enough of unnecessary hate...
Read moreFood was great, service was decent. The atmosphere was of a cheap end bar: very dim and dark and black table covers and the table seats weren't even bolted down so they flew up if you moved a centimeter that was beyond aggravating and just too me like whyyyy?? Such an easy fix I would think if they cared.... I went because of the food photos (not from the area but around the airport often enough) when I was looking through the restaurants looked like good homecooking. I was not disappointed with it, it did meet my expectations. Not everything was store bought. Homemade stuff is what sets a restaurant apart from the rest. Before even walking in I was stared at by every single person outside of the restaurant and it was pretty much the same once I was inside, so it felt like just a regulars spot because I was an outsider I suppose I caught a lot of attention idk but I didn't love that at all. I feel like that goes along with the atmosphere... when reading the name it says restaurant but it is definitely more of a bar or tavern. So just know that before hand. Not very kid friendly or date night or anything like that at all. It's very hole in the wall bar feel. But food is very good!! I loved the fried squash. The cheesesteak didn't have nearly enough cheese (wish they used cheese whiz like in Philly) but the chicken and roasted peppers had good flavors and good bread choice. The potato salad was great and the chili BBQ bites appetizer had good flavor and I loved the crispiness of them (can't...
