This was a return visit after several years for me, since we are not from the area. It was my wife’s one big restaurant request for our trip. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. Our server was very nice, but was not very on top of things at our table. Even though we saw many tables with baskets of bread/rolls on their tables, we did not receive any. I definitely remember some type of pre-dinner offering the last time (we thought it was hush puppies…are we crazy?). I ordered the tuna special that evening that was supposed to have a “crab salsa” served with it. When it was brought to our table, the salsa was not on the plate. Instead of taking my plate back and fixing it, she just got a little plastic cup with some salsa I. It and tossed it on the table. Not the standard I would have expected. Also, when she brought my wife’s dessert, she allowed the fork to get covered in whipped cream (which she noticed and commented on) but just set the plate down and walked away leaving my wife to have to clean up the messy fork. All that being said, the food was good…but not great. Certainly not worth the price that we paid. There was nothing “wrong” with it, but it wasn’t anything to rave about either. The one dish I will absolutely compliment, though, was the creamed corn. It was amazing. The best thing we had all night. The atmosphere was ok, but again, nothing special. All in all, we just left feeling very underwhelmed for the large check we had just incurred. Not worth going back next time, in my opinion. Many other restaurants that we can get more for our money, or at least the same level for much less.

My husband and I have not been to Bovines since 2018. It used to be one of our favorites, but we had a couple of inconsistent meals, and there are so many restaurants to try and enjoy in this city. And then there were the covid years... Tonight we returned to a 5 star meal. We both ordered Steak: Rib Eye ( baked sweet potato, creamed corn) and New York Strip topped with bacon wrapped scallops (sauted garlic green beans, pepper jack whipped potato's) . The service was top notch. Attentive, but not pushy or rushed. Perfectly timed pre-dinner cocktails, dinner and dessert. The food was expertly prepared. Perfectly cooked and FRESH. Steaks were nicely seasoned and tender. Side dishes were scrumptious. Definitely not an after thought! The restaurant is a bit noisy. Decor is beach, with a hip modern industrial vibe. Hence....noisy. Frankly our favorite restaurant is (was?) the Aspen Grill. But I might have a new favorite. Casual, but not sloppy. Relaxed. Comfortable. Friendly. Clean. Bright. Modern. Hip. Great date night spot. Great staff. Great food. And the view of the Marsh....♥️♥️♥️. Thanks Bovines!

Smelled delicious. Great outdoor patio. You can see the fireworks going off over the boardwalk. Lots of boat and people on the boardwalk. Lovely people watching spot. Unfortunately when we were here we waited 20 minutes outside for service. Talked to the manager. Waited another five minutes and a girl ran up and said she would be our waitress and made like we were sort of An inconvenience because we really weren’t her table. Definitely the red headed stepchild. Aside from that. The food was delicious. Had the beef tips and the scallop appetizers. Both were fantastic. Wish we would’ve had A better experience if we would’ve stayed for more food. Left after appetizers and a couple of drinks. Also we were able to enjoy the band from the patio next-door. got here at 8 and they only had one filet mignon left. And it was a Thursday night. They really weren’t that busy.

I am writing to share my recent disappointing experience. As a local who used to frequent your establishment and recommend it to others, I am saddened to say that my recent visit will be my last.

The service was exceptionally poor. Our waitress did not offer a single water refill throughout our entire meal, had zero personality and acted like she didn't want to be there. I was surprised to learn they charge a $6 upcharge to substitute one of my two included sides for a salad. So I chose the asparagus as my other side, which incurred a $2 upcharge, and was undercooked and lacked any flavoring. While my steak was cooked as requested, it lacked any discernible flavor.

After our food was served, I waited over ten minutes for our waitress to check on us. I needed to request a steak knife and A1 sauce to add some much-needed flavor to my bland steak, so I could not even eat during that time. To add to my dissatisfaction, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity for this substandard service, as well as a $4 processing fee for using my card. 2 not great entrees, a shared app, and 2 waters cost $113.00.

Given the high prices you charge, which I now believe are not justified by the quality of the food or service, and the lack of attention apparent in your online reviews, I will no longer be dining at your restaurant or recommending it to others. By the lack of responses to other concerns on here, I see that you really...

UPDATE***The owner says they "pride themselves on their steak and for me to email them so they can make it right' ." I emailed the only email on their website a month ago and have yet to see a response. I guess they care about their steak but not those consuming it. So rightfully so, I had to change their service to a 1 star.

So the food…..the ribeye is not a $40 steak, it’s $20 at best. No marbling anywhere in it just the outer edge and I ordered it cooked med rare and it came to me very close to being med well. Anything cooked past medium ruins a steak in my opinion. I couldn’t even finish it. Honestly, Outback has a better ribeye. I asked my asparagus be charred, literally all black and crunchy, nope, came out cooked how the chef wanted to cook it. Thr calamari, which I love in general, had so much breading on it, where the heck was the squid? The only good thing were the rolls and strawberry butter.

The atmosphere is bright. Good god. Dim the lights, create a more romantic atmosphere. I was there on a date and it felt like I was sitting at a fast food restaurant.

It wasn’t a $110 meal at all. $60 at best.

I was very let down and unfortunately won’t recommend it, I hear the mini pizzas are great, shame because I won’t be returning.

Seriously there’s an outback less than a mile away. I’ve been there and that location has a...
