First let me start by saying the view is stunning and the staff was very nice and accommodating for our large group. However, there is no excuse for quality that was totaly given up for quantity clearly. The following happened all in one dinning experience. In our party, table of 8 guests, 3 of their meals were forgotten completely. We had to asked 3 times before their food was finally received while most were finishing up what they could realistically eat. The mashed potatoes and rice that were the sides to the steaks tasted sour and like they were turning bad, completely not edible. I ordered one of my favorite soups ever, the she crab soup, and had to return it. Tasted completely like butter & wine, so greasy, and bits only of shredded barely existent crab meat. We ordered sushi which was comparable to grocery store quality and was made in such a rush the bottoms opened and everything fell out (had to eat with a fork or spoon). To top it off my son, who's food they forgot, was delivered a drink with a dead fly clearly flooding on the top. Again had to chase someone down to get it fixed. Not one manager came to apologize for all the issues and he was the one we had to chase down to get the other half of the tables food. Very unprofessional. Honestly just kept my mouth shut since we were there celebrating my family being in town. After dinner I found out everyone had the same experience and lack of quality. As a local I will not be back or recommend to my clients. I wish you nothing but growth and success. Something definitely needs to change, especially for the prices you...
Read moreThis is one of my parent's favorite restaurants to go to in Murrells Inlet. I have been here many times myself while on vacation visiting my parents. Generally it is a very good time with good, fresh seafood, and wonderful views of the intercoastal. This is my first time in a year and a half being back and witnessing Myrtle Beach's attempts to recover from COVID. Before my visit I mentally prepared myself for longer wait times at restaurants in the area. I am fully aware that restaurants were some of the hardest hit from the pandemic.
When I called midday to make a reservation I spoke to a wonderful girl who allowed me to explain that my father is older and has trouble getting around and I needed a specific table close to the bathroom and the front door with easy access because he uses a walker. She listened to me, and provided a wonderful table. When we were sat we found out that our waitress was a woman named Leslie. I never call out people by name in my reviews. She was so terribly rude to my family that I almost immediately got up to ask for a different server. My gracious mother talked me off the ledge and told me to just be kind to her and maybe her attitude would change. That did not happen. She continued to be rude, rushed, and inattentive. Overall the food and company were fine, but Leslie ruined the experience.
All of that said, I would highly recommend this restaurant as it is large and seems to be able to see people more easily than other restaurants in the area. The food is good, and the leaves are good. If you get a server named Leslie, I might request...
Read moreWe love this restaurant and visit every time we’re in town.
Our meal started with very stale bread, followed by our unenthusiastic waitress telling us that her previous table complained a lot. The almost $12 side salad came quickly, but the ranch tasted like bottled Kraft ranch, at best. After a couple bites, I had no interest in eating anymore. My wife’s fried shrimp were tough and over cooked, my son’s ribeye had so much fat on it that there was hardly any meat to eat (although, it was cooked well). My $45 dollar chef’s special was mediocre, at best. It didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t anything special, it all had one note and one texture, and was nothing very special. We left 70% of our food on the table, which appeared to go completely unnoticed by our waitress.
The meal was just “ok,” but definitely not anything more than that, and certainly not worth the $235 price for 5 people (2 of whom were 9 and under). I spoke with the manager, who was gracious and sympathetic, although all he offered was to cook another steak for us - AFTER we had paid and were walking out the door. He said they’ve had some struggles recently in the kitchen, but I didn’t have much confidence that he had any ideas on how to fix it. This has been one of our favorite restaurants, and certainly every place has a “bad night,” but looking at the recent google reviews, I am concerned. We will certainly give it another try, but I sure hope they can fix the problems they seem to be experiencing. We were certainly disappointed, but we’re rooting for...
