TO THE OWNER..THIS NONSENSE WILL STOP..I AM CALLING DHEC..SO GET READY.AND THIS IS A PROMISE...I have been a sous chef for 30 yrs..I am a 51 yr old fat girl that lives to eat GOOD FOOD..I AM NOT A COMPETITOR...I don't work in the food industry anymore..so plz don't bother accusing a bad review on someone from another hibachi restaurant because that is definitely not the case here..I'm reading these reviews pictures of uncleanliness, reports of rude staff, and unsanitary, undercooked, overcooked food.customers spending they're hard earned money on food that could give them food poisoning, make them sick or even kill them.you (the owner) disregarding customer feedback..ignoring complaint after complaint of your food quality and absolutely no interest in customer satisfaction.my husband and I used to enjoy Tokyo grill on south lake drive in Lexington..Today we returned for the first time since you were shut down.and I wish we had ate at McDonald's.and that's not something I do often.your ginger sauce was awful and it was not the same recipe that you used to serve.this was yellowish orange and ruined our meal I checked the food before we left but I didn't check the sauces...if you change a long standing recipe you should post a written notice somewhere where it can be seen so that customers will be aware of the change in taste and because of food allergies...the change to the ginger sauce was drastic didn't look taste or smell the same..the old ginger sauce you used to serve was better... when I checked my food I told your counter employee that there were no mushrooms...instead of fixing it..she lied right to my face and said oh yes there is..I made it myself they are under everything..my meal and my husband had NO mushrooms at all not above, beside,or under anything...our steak was rubbery and awful the shrimp were severely overcooked and had not been deveined...so I guess you can add shrimp poop to your menu..the portions were very tiny today we had two onions on our entire plate.the zucchini was soggy and mushy the rice was hard the broccoli looked as if someone had scraped it off the bottom of they're shoe.it was smashed flat and smelled sour and the color was way off..as I read the reviews I saw someone say they're cat wouldn't even eat it..well I tested that theory I have 4 cats and they would not eat it either..we usually clean our plates we never leave leftovers.since you reopened your service is intolerable and we are DONE..we will NEVER COME BACK..customers pay your bills..customer satisfaction should be a high priority with you,so should food quality, and customer service and cleanliness...this is intolerable and you really should have closed your restraunt after the negligent fire damage, kept the insurance check and closed the doors for good.i spotted over 9 health code violations from just the front counter today..handling food with no gloves no aprons and one emoyee had animal fur all over her..no hair nets your steam table was unsanitary and not being used properly.employees we're not washing they're hands..and there was so much more..but I am saving the extremely horrible stuff I saw today for DHEC and OSHA...I am not going to try to help you by telling you what you should fix or improve because it's obvious you don't care..your EGO and defensive accusatory responses in your reviews is proof of that..so it's best that since you won't do anything about your issues with your restraunt that the DHEC and OSHA officials and professionals tell you themselves when they write the citations issue your fines give you a bad score and close your establishment..and then...maybe you will realize your mistakes and take someone seriously... UPDATE TO RESPONSE. look back in my Google reviews I have left 2 bad reviews in the past 10 yr.i rarely ever leave a bad review especially for a restaurant because I know how detrimental it can effect an establishment,in my 30 yrs of cooking professionally I have have never called DHEC on anyone and I've actually never even seen a restaurant that warranted a...
Read moreI arrived at opening (11am) and had to wait for them to unlock the door. I ordered my food and sat down in an empty restaurant as I was the first customer of the day. My background is in restaurant management, and whoever the closing manager was last night failed in their responsibilities. Below is my rationale.
The restaurant was not cleaned well last night so they didn't do their final walk around to ensure cleanliness. The first table I sat at I had to move from because the table felt sticky. The floor still had food and trash left over from last night, so sweep was mediocre at best, I wonder if it was mopped at all? The windows are filthy, the plants inside are wilting and if they aren't going to be taken care of then maybe they should be replaced with artificial ones. Mop bucket still on display next to the front counter from last night with last night's mop water inside. Overall very disappointed in the cleanliness aspect see pictures below. Final note haven't received my food yet so I can't comment on the quality hopefully it's as good as...
Read moreThis is long, but I'll try to be as constructive as possible. I'll start by saying I LOVE Tokyo Grill. Especially the one in Lexington...the one in redbank, on the other hand, is disappointing. They're food is great, but I call in an order every time I go, usually 20 minutes before I get there. Every time, I wait at least 20 more minutes inside. I timed it by the time I got off the phone with them tonight and I actually waited for 56 minutes. I had my toddler with me for the 30 minutes I waited inside (which was hard enough) and apologized to the girl at the register because she was doing all she could do and it was not her fault. I watched 3 people leave and 5 people that came in after me got their food before I got my call in order. It was ridiculous. She was incredibly stressed out (understandably) and it was a huge cluster f*. Either you guys need more employees on the clock or better management. Thank you for the good food, but no thanks for the...
