China Wok — Restaurant in South Carolina

I’ve heard people say if you have to choose between good quality, inexpensive, and fast, you have to choose only two. Good and fast can’t be cheap. Cheap and fast won’t be good.

But China Wok has somehow found the perfect balance of good price, good food, and reliability fast service.

We call ahead and get five large items for our family of four, and they are ready in fifteen minutes without fail. The food tastes fresh and good. Our five items are a little over $30, and they are enough food for two dinners, meaning it’s about $15 for each dinner for four people the way we do it. I can’t think of any better quality food for less money.

We have a peanut allergy in our house, and the restaurant has told us that they do not use any peanut oils or products in the restaurant. We have not had any issues at all.

The staff are always kind and you can tell they take their business and customers very seriously.

We drive across Summerville past other Chinese places to go to this one, and by the time we get home, it’s still faster, hotter, and better...

This will be our first and last time visiting this restaurant. Service was acceptable. However, food was well below average. All food lacked flavor. We ordered the General Tso’s combination plate; the chicken tasted like nothing, and the pork fried rice had no flavor and none of the typical fried rice ingredients. We also ordered crab Rangoon’s, they were the worst of everything we ordered. They had no crab whatsoever, and was severely undercooked, the wonton wrapper tasted like dough. We also ordered a sweet and sour chicken combination plate; lacked any flavor and the pork fried rice had little to no veggies or pork in it. Finally, we ordered a shrimp roll as well as pork egg roll. Both were extremely greasy. The oil was literally dripping out of them. Again, no flavor whatsoever. Convenient location plenty of parking right off 26 and 17. Easily accessible from Nexton and Sangaree as well as surrounding area. Call ahead food ready in less than 30 minutes.

I moved from NJ 10 years ago and they are all the Chinese I remember from home. Prices have remained reasonable and portions are generous for lunch meals.

I probably order from them once or twice a month and the food is always consistent I have never had a bad experience always accurate and delicious.

There is not really any dine in seating since covid so I would suggest take out only now. There are table to wait and they would probably let you eat in but I am not sure and it is not set up that...
