Copper River Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

I'm very disappointe!, i went personally to talk to the General manager, because I had a special request, My youngest son, an Airman for the US Navy for past 4yrs was finally coming home, He's been deployed to Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Now resides on Base on Whidbey Island WA state with his wife and 3mnth old bady. His dad and brothers has not seen him "met the baby" in over a year, So he wanted to surprise them, but the request to surprise the family was denied! they wouldn't hold a table For 7 adults and 2 kids at 5pm! mind you, We eat CR all the time and gave them alot of money and support through out the years, My Son and his wife sacrifices being away from love ones everyday! But yet Copper River couldn't sacrifice 2 tables? this is so disappointing on so many levels, Funny thing is, the General manger didn't realize that the 2 hostess had just told me that he could give me the tables that it was up to him, so they retrieved him from the kitchen then i explained to him what i needed and without hesitation he said sorry but No, he wasn't willing to work with me on the time or even their down time, and I told him I was really shocked and hurt that we couldn't work something out? but he didn't care, he laughed and said sorry nothing I can do its policy. Honestly I was heartbroken, I went straight to my car and cried, I just couldn't believe this is the New America we live in now? But don't worry Copper River Applebee's was more than happy to take care of us. and they also had a "no reservation policy" Sometimes it's just about being there for your community and having compassion, something this General manager lacks. We went tonight for the first time ever. Absolutely loved the outside of the building. So welcoming. Inside was awesome as well... Arrived @ 9, Was told we'd have a 30 minute wait. Only had to wait about 15 minutes & there were 2 groups of 2 & a group of 5 before us. We had a nice booth, amoung a lot of nice tables. Bar seemed to have a good many patrons having drinks. Place had a great vibe Inside, honestly. We ordered our appetizer & placed our order at the same time to make it a faster trip. Waitress seemed "in a hurry" to take our order, almost walked off without taking the full order. Our app qas brought out fast. It was hot & delicious. Bacon Ranch Cheese Fries ❤ 8 / 10 Next we had the Kodiak Chicken entree with a side of loaded mashed potatoes (came cold , cheese didn't melt :( ) The chicken itself, was nice & juicy, with that honey muatard sauce made it the star topped with the ham smothered in cheese. 8/10 because of the potatoes. Next we had the Firecracker Shrimp Mac & Cheese - rotini cheesy, noodles with breaded shrimp with fresh diced tomatoes. Give it this dish a 10 / 10 . Last we had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. This dish was a 10/10 - absolutely delicious! Lastly, the crossiants were just icing on top of the metaphorical cake!!!! DELICIOUS! Our food was perfect. Was not to happy with having to wait so long to receive our take out boxes and check because waitress was socializing among other staff. People that came in and were seated after us, received their check first and was out before we even received ours... I Recommend this restaurant to anyone. We plan on returning...

Was very excited to try this restaurant as we had heard good things from other people. This was our lunch stop before heading home to NC. The inside was very nice but had a very small indoor waiting area. The wait was also quite short for for lunch time.

When we sat down, it took about five minutes for our drink order to be taken. We weren’t upset about this as we have both been servers and understand that servers get busy. However, she took our drinks and then walked away without a word. Once she came back we placed our order of the starter BBQ chicken nachos, Ribs and Chicken Tenders with a caesar salad, and a side salad.

The manager brought the caesar salad and basically threw it on the table and then just walked away. Then we got our entree and the other salad. The ribs had hardly any meat on them and the chicken tenders were very dry. The salads were pretty good. We never got out appetizer and when we mentioned that to our server, she never even gave us the chance to say we no longer wanted it. She just turned and put it in the system then walked away.

By the time we got the appetizer, we weren’t even hungry anymore and couldn’t eat hardly any of it.

We saw our server a total of about five times throughout the meal and she hardly said anything to us. It took quite a while for us to get refills on our drinks too. After the first experience with the manager we didn’t even bother talking to her about taking the appetizer off the bill.

Additionally, as a heads up, if you order a side salad and only one entree, you are charged 8 dollars for “salad as entree”.
